It was so worth paying more to take a "small group" tour rather than be on the cheaper group large bus tours.

A small group is a perfect size for this type of tour.

The Windmills are fascinating and even though we had a very foggy day, so worth seeing if you have the time.

A tranquil day in the country side

This small group tour was a wonderful way to spend some time in the country side. The visit to the windmills was fun and interesting. The visit to Volendam, a fishing town, was a nice contrast to Amsterdam, where we stopped for lunch. But most importantly, our guide was wonderful. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour.

This was such a special tour! Goulven was a marvelous guide. There were only 3 of us on the tour- myself as a solo traveler and a couple; so it was quite easy to ask questions and learn. While I would agree with some other reviews that maybe more time built into the tour at Zaanse Schans would be helpful, I wouldn't take away "points" from the review for that. This was still a really unique experience! Goulven chatted with us between the locations- the Zaanse Schans, Irene Hoeve, and Monnickendam. Sometimes I think you just as much in those moments as you do in the locations! It is an experience you cannot always have in larger tours. The windmills as I said before was slightly rushed, but still really nice. The clog and cheese farm was exactly as I hoped, and I left needing to buy more luggage to hold my new purchases! Monnickendam was truly charming. I don't even like fish, and hadn't cared much about visiting a fishing village, but the fish we ate there was amazing and the town is so beautiful! If I hadn't chosen this tour I wouldn't have seen this town, and I'm so glad that I did. I appreciate this company and their approach to tourism. Thank you, Goulven!

Our guide was phenomenal! I cannot remember his name, but he’s the #2 guy with this tour company. Very, very friendly. Very informative. Very patient. Very flexible in the schedule and showed us things and places most tourists never see. FIVE STARS IS NOT HIGH ENOUGH!

We LOVED this tour. The gorgeous countryside, the quaint villages, the stop at the wooden shoes and cheese establishment, even the darling and delicious lunch stop - all was very memorable. Goulven was knowledgeable, friendly and considerate. He added so much to our tour - even navigating his van down narrow streets to show us the beauty of the small villages. An absolutely delightful day. Can’t wait to come back!

Strolling through the town was a bit like walking through a fairy tail. The windmills create a feel of antiquity and nostalgia. At the same time the history of the use of windmills makes the reminds you of the fascinating accomplishments of this culture so many years ago. The museum on the building of the windmills and the working saw mill was another eye opening experience. The visit to the small cheese and wooden shoe store was the perfect compliment to the experience.

We signed up for this small group tour because my husband hates the big bus tours. We were told that there was a required minimum of passengers for the tour to go forward but, to our surprise, we were the only two on this tour because it is low season. We were very happy when our guide, Ale, showed up and was still happy to take us out for the day. We had a lovely and relaxing day visiting the sites and we especially appreciated Ale’s enthusiasm, professionalism, and knowledge of the places that we visited. We would highly recommend this tour.

Loved having a small group, great guide, interesting places. The windmill village, and the wooden shoe shop were fascinating. Our guide took us through a small old village and told stories about it and its residents, current and former. Loved Volendam. The day was cold and wet, so there were no crowds anywhere!
