Not worth it. Beter to google it and walk by yourself

Is more walking with a friend with very little historical facts and not much more than you can Google and walk by your self. The guide was very polite and try her best. The visit to the "Jade Museum" and Artcraft market also is more a commercial agreement that you have to stop

A good short history

I was the only one in this walking tour so I got a lot of one on one attention. I enjoyed getting to know Antigua a bit better. You will be walked to the jade place and also to a Mayan woman weaver to "learn" and also hopefully buy - but a firm no a few times stopped that. For some, that may be uncomfortable.

Great tour, informative but doesn’t wait at all

Walking around Antigua with Cristina was really great, she is nice and knowledgeable. I recommend you to take this tour on your first day in Antigua to understand what is going on around in the rest of your trip. One thing that could have been better is waiting for other people before moving on to the next thing, e.g. I was buying a gift from a store that was part of the tour (not something I stopped at on my own) and because the 4 other people weren’t buying, the guide left and I missed the whole information on the next thing (town hall) just because the payment and invoicing took 2-3 more mins. I didn’t feel very good about it. Usually walking tours have a +- 15 or 30 minutes for such cases, even if I was taking a photo for a minute, the guide should wait for me and others, as long as it is not extreme indeed. We are not in a lecture but a touristic tour :)

Luis was an amazing guide and gave us just the right mix of history, culture and gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Well worth the time and money and be sure to ask for Luis.

Antigua has lots of history and places to visit. This tour was nice but felt more like a walk around accompanied by some information. Please be aware that if you are looking for more comprehensive understanding of Antigua’s history, architecture and culture, a different option might be the best option.

Cristina was engaging, so interesting, and patient, and could see I was eager to practice Spanish, so she spoke to me kindly and slowly in Spanish at times, gradually immersing me more and more in the Guatemalan culture.

Guide more interested in shopping. Was not at specified location, and no sign. Saw guide and inquired and it was her. English was poor. Highlight advertised like Santo Domingo not covered

First, we apologize that the tour made you feel as it was focused on shopping. Our guide is not supposed to bring you shopping unless you request it so that is absolutely unacceptable and we so are sorry that your experience was substandard. We will speak to her about this. Second, Cristina usually waits in the shade in front of La Merced and looks for her clients so we will have her bring a sign for easier identification! Sorry it was difficult to meet up with her. Cristina speaks English well however it is her second language and sometimes accented. We apologize that you felt it was difficult to understand her. Lastly, we do not take guests to Santo Domingo, nor do we advertise that we do. Santo Domingo is a privately owned hotel complex with interior museums and some may say its worth a visit, but the other highlights, such as the cathedrals, central park, and various outdoor points of interest are always covered. Thanks again for your feedback and if you are in town for any length of time, let us know and we would be happy to offer you a discount on another service.

This was an improtu. Booked it the same day and Valerie accommodated me with a few hours. She was very friendly and informative about the culture and history of the city. She even gave me resturant options for dinner etc I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great intro and information

We had a great time on our group tour with Valerie. She and her partner did a really good job of dealing with our young children, including bathroom breaks and finding us water and snacks when needed. It started to rain during our tour, and we were able to stop until it lessened without feeling like it negatively impacted things. Valerie is a wealth of information regarding many things to do and places to eat in Antigua. I highly recommend this friendly outfit!
