Great experience with a fun host
Barry_T, Sept 2023
Great workshop and I thoroughly recommend it. The 2 hours flew by because it was so informative and enjoyable. The host was so friendly and fun. We learned all about how Mayan cultivated, processed and used chocolate. We made chocolate drinks in the Mayan way, tried tastings at different stages of the process, manual did the processes and got to design, make and take away our own big bar of chocolate with topping. A thoroughly enjoyable workshop.
Lots of fun, good value

This tour was great, it was a nice way to spend two hours since there is only so much you can do in Antigua. We did the 3pm workshop so we could spend the morning doing a walking tour and finish before dinner. The description online said we’d make chocolate bars at the end and have to pick them up 45 min after, but we started it with the custom chocolate bars so they were frozen and ready when we finished (semi sweet chocolate with various toppings). The rest of the workshop was spent in pairs learning about the steps to make chocolate and participating in the process. Our presenter spoke pretty good English and she was very animated and likeable. We tasted the beans along the way (raw, fermented, roasted, paste) which was very cool. There were a lot of opportunities to help the presenter and by the end of the workshop everyone had done something (operate a machine, help mix a drink, etc). Good price considering you get a chocolate bar, 3 drinks, and two hours.
Fun and educational

Very educational, lots of fun, even when going alone. Probably more fun with a group, but truly enjoyable. And you come away with a chocolate bar you created yourself.
Very Fun!

Very fun and knowledgeable class! Our teacher gave lots of great information about how chocolate is made today and also how the Mayans made it originally. We got to participate a lot in every step of the way and it was cool to see what products could be made from different steps through the process.

Natalie_A, June 2023
We’ve done a lot of chocolate tours, but I think this was the best one we’ve ever done! It was super hands on. Not only did we learn about how the chocolate was made, but we did the steps! And we got to make not one, not two, but THREE chocolate drinks to enjoy, as well as our own chocolate bar. It was awesome. Our instructor was wonderful, smilie, and professional. The timing was spot on, Eve ry thing flowed, and the time rushed by. Loved it !
