Absolutely amazing experience! Milton and Cuscun staff were absolutely wonderful, super friendly, and so informative. I loved exploring the colorful marketplace with Milton and having everything explained to me. There were so many little things I would have missed without him. We then went to the Cuscun Cooking School and cooked a three-course traditional Guatemalan meal on a beautiful rooftop kitchen with full mountain views. I had a full bottle of delicious red wine to myself while cooking. At the end I ate with the staff and also got to try shots of different fruit flavors of Guatemalan rum. Overall 15/10 experience. I very strongly recommend! More than comfortable and safe for solo travelers like me!
    Wonderful experience

The cooking class setting was beautiful - on a top floor with a great view of the volcano and surroundings. The instructors were all very hospitable, and we all enjoyed a delicious meal together at the end.

The market tour was marvelous! Our guide took time to show us everything, helped us try new foods, and explained the details of market chaos. The cooking class was very relaxed and fun, yet organized and efficient so we could produce an amazing 3-course meal in no time. Getting our hands on everything helped solidly the new techniques and new recipes so we can repeat this wonderful meal at home for family and friends. The chef was SO skilled and a great teacher—we learned how to cook real Guatemalan food, in a beautiful outdoor kitchen, while having a fabulous time!
Incredible experience -- educational, fun, and delicious!

My market tour and cooking class at Cuscun was an incredible and memorable experience! I have taking cooking classes while traveling in many different countries, and this experience ranks as one of the very best. The market tour was amazing -- I learned a lot about Guatemalan fruits, vegetables, cuisine, and history. And the hands on cooking class itself was a very fun and educational experience. The kitchen is on a terrace with gorgeous views in every direction. Chef Ingrid is a terrific instructor, and the many foods we made were fun and delicious, and all things that I am confident I can repeat at home. We were assisted by a wonderful couple from Brussels currently volunteering at Cuscun. Overall, it was an incredible and rewarding experience that I will always remember. I highly recommend this to everyone!
    We loved our cooking class!!!

This experience was absolutely unbelievable!!! Pamba was our guide and Joaquin and Mama Lina (the Queen!!!!) were our chefs. 6 of us participated and all agree that we felt supremely welcome, like family. The family went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time. I would recommend this to anyone.
    Best day in Antigua!

I loved my time with Josua, Ingrid, and Lisa! I learned a lot about local food (and beverages!), preparation, and traditions. Joaquin was amazing at setting everything up. The upstairs, outdoor cooking room created the perfect vibe for a fun experience and had incredible views of the surrounding mountains.
    Wonderful Class

Wonderful cooking class and tour. We were able to see parts of the market we had missed and may not have checked out otherwise. Our guide Jose was super friendly and we were able to get some fruits we'd never seen before to try. We also got to take a tuk tuk to the class location (which I had decided I wanted to do last minute) and they were very accommodating! We were driven back after the class later at night. The rooftop kitchen and dining area is very beautiful and has a perfect view of the surrounding volcanos and city. There was a wood burning stove and our chef was so knowledgeable and taught us tips and tricks in preparing some Guatemalan specialities - rellenitos, tostados, and pepian with corn tortillas. It was fun and delicious and we also tried some local alcohols! It was an intimate and wonderful experience and we would definitely do it again! I'm also super happy I have some recipes I can now try at home.
    A Must Do in Antigua!

I can’t say enough about the fun time we had with Joaquin, Fernando and Ingrid! Joaquin and Fernando were right on time picking us up from our AirBnb. They walked with us to a huge market in Antigua and did a wonderful job of showing us around, explaining all the different types of foods that we weren’t familiar with, and helping us get samples of different fruits, vegetables and drinks that we wanted to try while picking up the ingredients we needed for our meal. We then went back to the Cuscun kitchen which was on a beautiful rooftop terrace. Joaquin made sure we were never empty on drinks and appetizers (he even brought over fresh tamales that his mom had just prepared next door) while Fernando Ingrid showed us every step to cooking a traditional Guatemalan meal of tostadas, pepian, and rellenitos. I highly recommended adding this tour to your itinerary in Antigua! We had a blast!
Learned how to make local cuisine in a small, beautiful setting.

This was an amazing compliment to our trip to Antigua. We toured and purchased our food from the local market and took it back to the school to prepare and eat. Small and intimate setting and enjoyed our meal with the family running the school. I highly recommend !
