Run, don’t walk
Richard_O, Feb 2023
Such a fantastic time. The lake is gorgeous and we visited three different towns. Our guide was from Santiago and he knew the area very well. Definitely worth the trip.
Incredible Experience with Joel
Benjamin_W, Feb 2023
Our tour of Lake Atitlan was incredible. Our driver Marlon was right on time in the morning and was fantastic. Once we arrived in Panajachel, we met Joel our tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his Mayan heritage and the history of the people and the places we visited, which made our experience even better! We would recommend this to anyone visiting Guatemala.
Great experience
Tania_R, Jan 2023
Our experience was great our Driver Marlon was great and very knowledgeable. Our tour guide for the towns, Brenda was also very nice. I didn't know the trip was a private tour which ended up being great because you get your own boat for transfer and you have the ability to choose what you want to do.
The driver to our way...
Elizabeth_C, Dec 2022
The driver to our way there was exceptional. The boat ride was super rough and the tour guide was ok. The town of San Juan was charming and beautiful. The other towns weren’t worth the time. The guide showed a statue os San Pedro in one and a plaza with a church in another rushing through the Mercado.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your review. We´re happy to know our driver did an excellent job and you felt safe with him the whole time. Regarding the boat ride, unfortunately, we can´t control the wind or the swell. We´re so sorry you had a rough ride. The windy season at the lake is from November through January. We assure you our well-experienced boat captains always do their best to have a boat ride as safe and comfy as possible. Regarding the tour of the Mayan villages, San Juan is probably the most interactive town. It offers several activities to do and is always well-organized and clean. The other two villages perhaps don´t offer a wide variety. Nevertheless, our tour guides always share the most symbolic attractions in each town, such as the fruit and vegetable market for the locals, the main plazas, and the churches. We´ve noticed they´re usually found interesting by most visitors. We´re very sorry if they didn´t fulfill your expectations. Thanks again for the comments. The customer´s feedback is super important for us to improve every experience.
Great day

We were picked up at the hotel in Antigua at 6am. Transportation was just for us and the driver waited for us to drive us back to the hotel close to 3pm. We got to Lake Atitlan and met our guide Lidia. She was full of information, we learned about the dresses they wear and customs - we took the boat (jumpy ride) and went to San Juan, San Pedro and Santiago - all beautiful towns. Amazing the tons of information we got from this trip. Lidia was very good explaining their customs and taking us to different places. Part of the plan is to take you to the markets to buy - we were not in the plan for shopping (no space in luggage) and we went more for the history and the learning experience. But if you have room in your suitcase, there are tons of things to buy and support these communities. The weather was great in the middle of November. You need a light sweater just for the morning, then at noon the sun is warm.
Mind Blowing.

It's a bit of a drive from Antigua, but totally worth it. Lake Atitlan is one of my favorite places to visit in Guatemala and truly a gem. Our shuttle driver was so friendly and punctual. If you aren't really used to having a guide, just know that your shuttle driver will probably join you for breakfast if you're heading to the lake early in the morning, but we thought it was great he did. Our guide at the lake was great too and knew a lot about the different towns and people. We visited three towns, each unique, and had a great lunch. The water on the lake can be very choppy, so if you have back problems or anything like that, sit at the back of the boat that takes you form town to town. Truly an amazing experience.
A unique experience and a sight to behold

Excellent guide, stunning views, wonderful food, and a great overview of the history and culture. The trip was well rounded, the staff were professional and everything went smoothly. No complaints whatsoever! Book it you won’t regret it.
Amazing experience.

Amazing experience. Private transportation with private tour for 3 islands on lake antilan. Guide was amazing and knowledgeable.
You can't leave Guatemala without this tour!
evan_a, June 2022
My driver Osmen was on time and very informative the whole trip. He had a great recommendation for a great breakfast on our way to the lake. Our tour guide Juan Diego was very knowledgeable about the different Mayan villages and the history of Guatemala. He had a great textile class for us setup in the Village. He spoke at least three different languages and was really able to give us a lifetime experience.

Wow , what a way to end our trip! This was absolutely THE BEST tour we did. Our driver Marlon, and our tour guide Elena were very knowledgeable. We learned a lot. everything ran on time from pick up, to the tour times and the drive back to the hotel. While you are at each stop, you stop at several mini tours, you are not just walking around aimlessly. If you get the chance, book this tour!
Awesome experience, would recommend
Andrea_C, June 2022
Our tour guide Nicholas was awesome! We did mini tours for chocolate, cotton, and coffee production. San Juan is definitely the best!
IrisEscobar_M, June 2022
It was an excellent experience. We had a Maya guide who explained us her culture. We visited two Maya cooperatives, the textile and the honey production.
Great day trip for adults.
Logan_D, June 2022
About a 2 hour drive (with a stop for breakfast) and then a really awesome tour exploring the 3 towns. Each one is different (San Juan was my favourite!) Our guide, Juan Diego, was awesome - he definitely showed us some extra out-of-the-way spots!
A memorable mother/daughter day full of colors and flavors
Maria_G, June 2022
Our trip was like the description yet so much more! Rudolfo, our driver, was courteous and careful. We then met Juan, our private guide who tailored the day to our interests, appetites and pace. We skipped breakfast out of fear of sea sickness, but needn’t have worried. The captain of Azucena brought us safely to shore at San Juan. We were rewarded with coffee and a description of its production. There was an impromptu concert on the street by preschoolers in their native dress. Next, we learned about chocolate from Karla and traditional weaving and dyeing from Irma. We headed back to the Azucena for a 15 minute boat trip to Santiago. At lunch, my daughter had pepín - a hearty chicken stew with pumpkin seeds. After this feast of colors, sounds, texture and taste, there was still more to stir our hearts and minds. We visited the church of Santiago at Atitlan. Juan shared the history and suffering of Guatemala’s more than 30 year civil war. Thank you, Juan, your conviction and passion were a reminder of why we were traveling in the first place. You helped my daughter and me connect with one another, with Mayan culture, Guatemala as a countryand humanity’s struggle to persevere.
Wonderful Trip!

Saul was a great and careful driver, he was very kind and stopped at a high view point of the lake to take great pictures! The local guide, Helena, was great as well. She was incredibly knowledgeable and so patient with our questions. Would 10000% recommend!!

It was fun until it wasn’t
sara_m, May 2022
The experience was going fine until our driver ran over a dog on the street. I’m beyond upset and traumatized from this. It’s overshadowing the previous parts of the day.
Response from Host, May 2022
Thanks for your review. We are dog lovers too. We´re very sorry for this incident. We definitely understand how you feel. Sadly, there are hundreds of street dogs all over the villages of our country. This situation has become a problem on our highways and streets, putting at risk our passenger´s safety and of course the lives of all these lovely animals. Nevertheless, this is the first time that happens to us. I know the way Rodolfo, your driver, treats his dog. He loves animals as well. That I can assure you I personally revised the video and in this particular case, Rodolfo couldn't see the dog from his angle. He was paying attention to another dog crossing the street and a car coming in his direction. Once again we´re tremendously sorry for what happened. We´re glad the tour itself was a good adventure.
Lovely time at Lake Atitlan! Highly recommend

We had an incredible time on this tour with our wonderful guide Juan Diego! Driver was great and picked us up promptly at 6am in Antigua. He gave us the option of stopping for breakfast on the way or at the lake. We chose the lake and had a beautiful view. We then met up with our guide and had a private tour and boat! Visited 3 beautiful villages and learned a ton. Saw incredible demonstrations of weaving, chocolate and coffee making. Got some great (and colourful) photos! Beautiful day on the lake and such lovely views of the volcanos. Thank you everyone who made this tour amazing! Well worth it.
Excellent tour, and personalised service
Kasey_L, Mar 2022
We had an amazing experience around Lake Atitlan! Driver picked us up at 6am promptly, in a clean, and spacious van. We stopped for breakfast at a lovely restaurant in the mountains before arriving at Late Atitlan, where our tour guide met us. We visited three different towns around the lake, aside from strolling around the town, we were shown a coffee plantation, insight into chocolate making and also Mayan weaving, which was amazing! Our guide was great and very knowledgable, and I appreciate that he felt more like a friend showing us around (we even had lunch together!) which made the experience feel much more intimate. Not once were we ushered to the next stop, we took our time and nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic Guide!!
Janelle_B, Feb 2022
The tour guide gave us a great experience! He took us to three Mayan villages, took us to a local place to lunch, and gave us the history of the villages. 10/10 highly recommend. He also took into account what we wanted to see, and was flexible.
