Beautiful hike.

We had such a wonderful time and the hike was so beautiful. Even the driver joined us for the hike which was nice. The only thing was the owner asked us for extra money and we were delayed because we had to gas money.

Excellent experience. Our tour guide Daniel was incredibly nice. He was right on time to pick us up from the hotel. The ride to the Volcano was a bit long, but our tour guide made it up with a pleasant conversation, providing detail information of the area. It was my first time visiting Pacaya, what an unforgettable experience. I would recommend it. My advice would be make sure to wear a nice pair of hiking boots.

Erwin truly made our this tour the highlight of our trip. He is so knowledgeable of the history of the country , i learned so much more than I expected. He did everything to make us comfortable. He was diligent in helping us navigate cost and suggested items. Although we were not in our native country, Erwin truly made us feel like we weren’t far from home. An unforgettable experience!

We typically book private guides for our tours when we travel. We wanted a private guide for Pacaya Volcano especially so that we could get individualized service. We were so glad that we booked this private tour. Erwin and Daniel were a great team. Erwin was the overall tour guide/manager, and he provided the historical and cultural information during the drive. Daniel escorted us up the mountain and provided us some information about the local plants and trees. Both Erwin and Daniel were very nice and easy to talk to. We have used a lot of private guides in our travels, and Erwin is probably one of the best that we have used. Erwin made it clear that he believes in quality standards for any tour. Why use a private guide for Pacaya? If you are hesitant about climbing up the mountain on foot, but still up for the challenge, then having a private guide is helpful. We did not feel rushed. We could take as many breaks as we needed. Although I go to the gym several times per week, this hike was still difficult because of the soft ground and steep inclines at times. It was also very helpful to have Daniel literally hold my hand through some of rocky volcanic terrain up on top of the mountain. Being of short stature (4'10") I found it a little harder to step up and step down in some places. After the tour, Erwin provided a local recommendation for lunch (not included in the tour). It was probably one of the best meals we had in Antigua. We all had lunch together, and then they dropped us back at our AirBnB. Thank you Erwin and Daniel for your warm hospitality. This was an experience we will never forget.

This was one of the best things we did in Guatemala!!! It's truly an incredible experience with mind-blowing views! The hike is tough but the guides are more than happy to go slow and take their time. It felt like it went pretty quick. We got the horses for our kids (ages 10 and 11) and very glad we did because there was no whining! Ha! Erwin was excellent. Full of knowledge, passionate about what he does, and wants to give everyone the best experience possible. If you ask, he will take time for pizzas up top! He's very accomodating.

Nice volcano tour

We liked the tour, unluckily it was raining and it was foggy, so we couldn't see anything, no views. The way was easy to go, no hard walking. We come back in October and do the tour again with sunshine!
