However, hiring a professional guide makes sure you do not overlook interesting sights (such as the historic outdoor laundry) that you might have overlooked walking around on your own.

Excellent tour

Such a great experience. Carlos was an excellent tour guide. Learned so much. He was very patient and took us to the places we wanted to see. Would definitely recommend!
Great tour of all of Antigua
Alexis_H, Feb 2023
Carlos is so kind, passionate and knowledgeable about Antigua and Guatemala's history. I was the only one on the trip so I was able to ask all the questions and have a personal-styled walking tour. I normally avoid terms, but this was one that was perfect, I saw all of Antigua in about 3.5 hours. I think all of Antigua knows him. It was nice to also have someone take photos of me and good ones! Thank you so much. Highly recommend.
Great Walking Tour of Antigua
Mellissa_K, Jan 2023
This was an informative tour with my guide, Carlos. If you enjoy hearing about the historical/religious aspects of Antigua, Guatemala and hitting key spots to start your visit I would recommend this tour to get to know the town. Carlos was friendly, very informative, and even took a pictures for me as I was solo this tour and it was much appreciated. Wear comfortable walking shoes. I’m only taking off 1 star because it did not start on time (about 20-30mins late) and I value punctuality. I had to contact the company to figure it out rather than them contacting me first to be aware of the delay.
Great way to learn about Antigua

We took this tour on our first full day in Antigua. Adolfo met us at the Casa Santa Domingo Hotel. He was friendly, funny and very kind. He had a lot of interesting stories to tell about the history of Antigua. We also appreciated learning about how the city and its people had been impacted by COVID. The tour was published as a 3-hour walking tour, but I think our tour lasted a little longer than that. We stopped at the main buildings and churches. He was very flexible in asking us if we wanted to go inside various places. We even walked through a small park where they were selling street food. He even asked if we wanted any but we declined because we knew we were going to have lunch. We also stopped at a Jade store for a while which was quite enjoyable. At the end, he described various places where we could enjoy some Guatemalan food. He also escorted us in and recommended some dishes. There is a lot of walking so make sure you bring your walking shoes, a hat and possibly sunscreen. It was a pleasure to have Adolfo as our host of Antigua!
Adolfo has a lot of...

Diego is a tour guide that cares!
Cassandra_R, Dec 2021
Diego was friendly, knowledgeable, and a fun guide to spend the day with. The tour was personalized to what the group was specifically interested in seeing. He gave me recommendations for restaurants and places to visit and helped me with my Spanish!
Great Tour

Diego was my guide and he was excellent. I ended up getting the tour to myself and he was very knowledgeable. He allowed me to go at my own pace and continuously checked in with me to customize the tour to my liking. I would recommend this tour.
Historic Antigua Tour
Ezrihel_C, Nov 2021
Luis was my tour guide, and he had an in-depth familiarity with the religious history of the town. We walked to some key spots of the town (exploring everything would take several days), and Luis provided a rich understanding of every architectural element and history of the buildings. He also had great recommendations of other spots to visit around town.
Excellent City Tour

Very interesting, informative and comprehensive city tour. Diego spoke English very well, answered questions and was a joy to be with during the tour. I highly recommend.

I was visiting Antigua for the first time and i wanted to get the most out of it. So I decided to hire a local guide and I’m glad I did! Diego Lee was my guide for the day and he did an amazing job! He took me all over the city and was very knowledgeable as he explained the history part of all the places he took me to. Highly recommend!

Louis my tour guide, picked me up from my hotel and took me around town. Louis was super nice and knowledgeable about the town's history. Would recommend if you have a few hours spend.
Guided tour to make sure you do not miss any of Antigua's highlights
Robert_S, May 2021
The historic core of Antigua is only about five blocks by five blocks square (although some sights, such as Cerro de la Cruz, fall outside that square). You can walk and explore the city on your own. However, hiring a professional guide makes sure you do not overlook interesting sights (such as the historic outdoor laundry) that you might have overlooked walking around on your own. Diego customized the walking tour to emphasize what I had not seen walking around on my own the previous day. So this tour would be great either as an introduction to Antigua, or to fill in the gaps of what you may have missed walking around on your own.
Best guide, best tour
Pearline_G, May 2021
Diego, thebguide, made this tour amazing. He was very knowledgeable, personable and had such passion for his city, it made the tour that much better. We saw both tourist, local and hidden gem sites that really added to the tour.
This is a MUST
Miriam_G, Apr 2021
Loved the whole tour. Do it the first day you arrive to get a lay of the land and an appreciation for the mostly turbulent history of this clean UNESCO designated city. Loved the Santa Domingo tour...guide pointed out many simple but significant things we certainly would have missed without his guidance and knowledge. Only reason the gave 4 stars is that his English was sometimes difficult to understand and the second half of the tour it poured rain ...but we continued on🤣 . He did offer to continue with a van but that’s no fun..
Eine ganz persönliche, wunderbare Tour
Heidi_H, May 2021
