Temperatures in Montserrat and the winery tend to be more extreme than in Barcelona. Please check the weather forecast the day before and dress accordingly. We advise bringing water, especially in the summer season.

Vince was a fantastic tour guide. Really made sure we made the most of our time at Monserrat. Very knowledgeable about wine and winery as well as Montserrat. The tapas was a perfect snack to go along with our wine tasting. It should be noted that the cogwheel train does not actually take you up to the mountain but an air conditioned modern train takes you up the side of the Mountain. Still pretty cool to see the views from there.

Go for the views, not the food

The view is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend taking the train up and spending a few hours at the top. The winery was also lovely. Took 1 star off because the lunch that was served was awful. The most random and unauthentic food - served a shot glass of soup, cold roasted veggies on bread, what looked like canned tuna on a green salad, stuffed pasta with mystery meat, and some soft cheese with honey for dessert along with awful wine. The wine from the winery I was also unimpressed with. Expensive and not good in my opinion, though I did enjoy going and seeing the estate.

Our guide Lesly was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and great at answering questions and helping when needed. The tour of Montserrat was nice but we could have used perhaps 30 minutes more time to see everything we would have liked to have seen. The wine tasting and tapas lunch was also excellent, and again Lesly proved to be quite knowledgeable in this area.

Fantastic tour!

This was a great tour. Nice way to spend the day outside of Barcelona. Montserrat was amazing! The views from the top were unbelievable. So you take a bus from Barcelona to Montserrat and then you get on a cog train which takes you up to the monastery. Our guide then walked us around and explained everything to us. We had some free time to explore more on our own. Then you get on another bus (if you booked the lunch &Winery) that takes you down the backside of the mountain to the winery. Then you sit down for lunch and wine. After lunch you tour the winery. Unfortunately one of the ladies in our party got sick. We didn’t get to have our lunch or tour the winery. But our tour guide and the staff at the winery were amazing. They did everything they could possibly do for us. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up and take us back to Barcelona. I received a call from Castle Experience checking on my daughter. I can’t say enough good things about this tour guide and the company.
