Our departure points are usually from the San Pedro Belize Express for our clients coming from Caye Caulker and San Pedro, or from Terminal 1 at the cruise ship dock for our cruise ship clients. If you need us to pick you up from a specific hotel, let us know via email and we’d be glad to accommodate your needs. We can do pickups anywhere in Belize City. Guests on San Pedro, Caye Caulker, St. George's Caye and other islands would need to come in to Belize City to be picked up. Our tours usually leave at 9:00 AM CST, but if you’d like to leave earlier, let us know. We do not offer pickups at Harvest Caye for cruise passengers coming on Norwegian Cruise Line ships as it is a private island owned by that company and most local operators are unable to offer tours there.

Altun Hun is interesting, although not a must-see. The most unusual feature is that you’re allowed to climb to the top of the pyramid and look over the whole site which was fun.
Unfortunately, our guide, Jose, from Jose Tours was poor. First, his car was in bad condition and had a shattered windshield and no seatbelts in the back. He had to be asked to stop having long conversations on his cell phone while driving. And except when asked specific questions he offered little information, and most of it unhelpful, like pointing out how nicely the grass was mowed! He also talked a lot about his own family issues and financial problems.

Our driver guide, Jose, made the trip! Very informative and so friendly. The ride is quite bumpy but just hold on tight and try not to look at oncoming traffic. We chose to skip the lunch because our travel partners aren’t fans of rice and beans. Definitely ask for Jose!

Jose was very knowledgeable about the ruins and the city, and the changes the country has made to improve the lives of its people. the 2 things that prevented a "5 star" rating - is his Mario Andretti style of driving over the windy road 14 miles from Altun Ha and an inappropriate comment he made concerning his second wife. The lunch was very good, and the chicken was excellent. he nicely added in the stop at the rum factory, where we could also taste the cashew wine.

The tour guides were good, but the vehicles were beat up not too comfortable. I do realize that the roads in Belize are torn up. The guide really should have met us in terminal 2 we had to look for him.

The ruins were great but the ride there was horrible. The tour guide drive very fast and I got car sick. The tour guide appeared to be in a rush and it was hard to enjoy the trip.

We very much enjoyed our half day tour to Altun Ha with Luis. He was knowledgeable, personable and picked us up on time at our hotel. We also enjoyed the lunch at the local Belizean cafe. Altun Ha is a beautiful Mayan ruin site about an hour outside of Belize City.

We booked Jose Tours outside of Royal Caribbean and we had a nice time. My Mom, Sister and I met Jose right outside the cruise terminal. He had a sign with my name on it. We traveled to Altun Ha ruins and he gave us information along the way. We also had a traditional lunch that was stewed chicken, rice and beans. It was yummy. Jose was very friendly and knew lots of information about Belize. I would highly recommend Jose Tours. Don’t be afraid to book outside of a cruise line. Just do your research and read reviews. Thank you Jose for a wonderful day.

We booked Jose Tours outside of Royal Caribbean and we were not disappointed. Jose promptly met us outside of the cruise terminal and walked us to his van. We traveled to Altun Ha ruins and he gave us history along the way. After the Mayan ruins we went to eat a traditional meal of stewed chicken and rice. It was very good. His English was perfect and we enjoyed the hours we spent chatting with him. I would highly recommend Jose Tours. You will not be disappointed.
