Belize tour

Kenton, was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable, funny & personable. He gave us good snacks, lunch & samples at the distillery. Would do it again!

Belize City- The Place To Be

Thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable, temperature controlled, clean vehicle. Tour guide was well versed in history of the city. Food selection was good, but I would have preferred to exit the vehicle and visit the food locales instead of the food being brought to me. I’m sure I would have purchased additional items beyond offerings. Bakery item was the best and the sample left me wanting more. Tour direction was pre planned with very little diversion. Options should allow the guest to design where they want to go. Overall I would recommend this tour and if I returned would definitely use this company again.

Not What I Expected

We were expecting to get out of the van at each location to experience the local people and local cuisine. This tour guide made us sit in the van while he went to get the food. Then, he brought the food back and had us eat the food in his van while he drove to the next location. Also, the vehicle was very hot 🥵 and had poor air flow/condition. The only reason I am not giving him a 1 is because he did show us the ‘real’ Belizean neighborhoods that gave us a good understanding of how the locals live. At the last stop, we couldn’t take it any longer, sitting in the hot van. So, we got out and decided to walk back to the hotel.

This was a fantastic tour. Full of rich Belize history from a great guide. Loved that it was an air conditioned van as it was a really hot day. The guide was not only knowledgeable but he was also funny. We were able to taste different local fruits (so fresh and much better than what we get in the states), we had a great tamale lunch (my family is still talking about how great the tamale was), and also enjoyed a nice cool icecream treat where we were able to try soursop icecream for the first time. I will highly recommend this tour!!! If you are looking for an excursions that will not monopolize your entire day (~2 hours), this is the tour for you.

Kanton treated us like family. He was so informative about his country and shared with us the best and freshest cuisine on the island. We felt safe and enjoyed the comfort of the air in the van. We were coming in from a cruise and received great info to ensure we met up in the right location and got back in time. Would completely recommend touring with this group. You won’t regret it.

We loved Saint. We love seeing St. John’s Cathedral and the ice cream stop was really good. Manuel gave us a good tour. Explained everything in town to us. Since some parts of town are not safe to walk around it was good to be in an air-conditioned vehicle with a guy who knows all about the town.

Disappointed in Tour

Our driver was the best. He was very knowledgeable and could answer all the questions we had. Showed us around and gave us all of the history. Made us feel very comfortable. We had chicken tamales and sour sop ice cream. Omg the best

For an authentic look at Belize’s diverse culture and a taste of the local food, book this BITS & BITES. Aaron, a native of the area, gave us a colorful tour around the city, told us many interesting facts about the city, country and its history, and he presented everything in a very fun way. If you enjoy sampling the food in a new region like we do, you can’t miss - just 2 hours long and lasting memories. Ask for Aaron. We had such tasty bites, including a lobster lunch, sour sop ice cream (had never heard of this fruit before) and sampled a variety of rum made with 100% Belizean products (Travellers 5 yr old premium aged rum was so good, we bought a bottle). This was better than any tour offered by the cruise ship we were on. We booked it online through Viator! Great excursion!

Our guide, Aaron, was outstanding. He did an excellent job of showing us around Belize City with views of historic spots and modern city life. We sampled some local cuisine and learned about spices and traditional preparation.

We took the Belizean food tour with David and it was amazing! He took us to many little stops and made sure that everyone got a chance to do things they wanted to do; we weren't rushed at all! The small food stand we went to was the BEST food our whole cruise and definitely not a place the larger tours would have taken us to, a true local secret! It was an amazing tour and I would highly recommend!!

Took private van ride around town, this was nice. Great driver and very friendly. We stopped at rum factory, had to pay for samples and pushed us to buy over priced rum. Stopped at a fruit stand and got out for 2 min and back in van...not a market. Driver stopped and ran inside somewhere and brought back some corn dishes. We never got to order anything and there was not a restaurant stop. The driver then gave us tamales that had been sitting in the van, was there when we got in hours prior. I requested refund and Viator denied....will not book through them again.

Thanks for you review..After a short discussion with my guide I have concluded that he did his job and according to how the tour goes.This tour is a combination of a city tour along with a couple taste stops and thats what you got Its doesn't state anywhere that we will take you to a restaurant if that was what you wanted could have asked and am sure we would have assisted.

We got to the port about 30 minutes late but our tour dispatcher was very welcoming & nice. He reminded us we were on belizean time. He handed us over to Manuel our tour guide who felt like family. He gave us an excellent tour of Belize and fed us twice with drinks. We ate snacks and food at local restaurants. Everyone was super friendly, including local policemen. We definitely had a beautiful belizean day! I will do this tour again!!!!

Disappointment is putting it mildly

I'm sorry. I hate to complain, but this is up there with one of the worst shore excursions we've ever been on. First, we were back in 1-1/4 hours, not the 2 hours noted in the write-up. The driver was not dressed in a company shirt, and he drove us in a beat up old car that was a disgrace. WORST, though, we could not get out of the back seat unless he got out and opened the doors from the outside (like a police car). We could not roll down the windows in the back. We could have literally been trapped in the back seat of this car had there been a mishap or accident. The driver spoke fast with a heavy accent, so most of the time we had no idea what he was pointing out. The Bits & Bites were a disappointment. We were concerned that he had a couple of tamales wrapped in paper and in a plastic bag that were on the front seat of his car when we got in. He had already mentioned that he had been at the port all morning so the car was really hot inside when we got in late morning. Not sure how safe it was to leave the food in a hot car that long, but we fortunately didn't get sick from eating it. I think his plan was to pull over to the side of the road and have us eat them in the car (no beverages, napkins, etc.). We were really looking forward to this excursion. What a disappointment.
