Start with a briefing on the layout of the caves, how to use the kayaking equipment, and about the route. Along the way, enjoy a refreshing swim. The tour also includes a visit to the ancient ruins at Altun Ha.

Island guest can get the 7am water taxi from San pedro to belize city where your guide will meet you. for guest arriving from the island we pickup at Ocean Ferry , San Pedro Belize Express water taxi terminal. For cruise guest we tour on Ship Time, come ashore early and enjoy this unbelizable adventure. cruise ships stay 4 miles offshore, the cruise provides boat shuttle tenders guest to shore. the tenders start at 7:45, there are 6 tenders each carrying 200 passengers going back and forth from ship to shore during the first hour. during this first hour most pre booked guest for ship tours and independents are on shored on tour. the tender boats are then reduced to 2 going through out the rest of the day. so its vital to get a early tender ticket, Come ashore early. near shore you will see the lighthouse, the terminal buildings housing giftshops. proceed to terminal 1 also known as the reef terminal and go thru the terminal to the EXIT where street side you will see us in RED shirts and holding the V.i.V sign

Queen of the kayak.

My friend and I signed up to Kayak for this excursion and had a wonderful time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared as much information as he could while driving us to the river. Once we got to our destination our guide took his time to make sure everyone was safe on their journey to and through the river on the kayaks. I thoroughly enjoyed all the site and sounds while kayaking through the rivers of Belize. It was a little crowded with other tours, which slowed us down and made things a bit hectic at times. We then set out to see some mayan temples afterwards in the afternoon. Since most tours go to the temples in the morning we were the only tour guide at the site when we got there around 2pm. Our guide quickly and gladly took our pics. and gave out more information. He made sure we departed on time so everyone arrived back at their drop point at proper time. I would definitely sign up for this tour again. The views alone of Belize make it 10/10. The only thing I wish this tour included was lunch since it is a full day tour.

Great tour, miscommunication of float type

Jeremy was awesome & patient with us. Tour was unique, an experience & un-Belize-able! Jeremy was knowledgeable & wonderful about answering our questions of the city of Belize, the cave elevation, rock formations, history of how the caves were used by the locals, etc. The views of Belize & their caves were amazing & the clear freshwater was so refreshing to swim in. Highly recommend tour, especially during hurricane season as you'll be getting in the water anyways! no need to worry about the downpouring rain! Only complaint was the lack of communication as we were supposed to get kayaks for our tour rather than tubes. So we were only able to go thru 1 cave (altun ha)

Thanks for your review, its all about Safety first. we all prefer the first option of kayaking, yes ,this time of year the decision to opt for tubes is done at the last minute as we survey the current river conditions and the weather. Once the river rises and river current is faster than normal, we dont kayak, since manuevering in a dark environment by first time visitors in a new environment becomes challenging, the guide knows the caves and controls the tube float. This time of year "rainy season" the decision is done daily, based on wether the caves are accessible, open to the public, river water conditions and real time weather conditions.

Kayaking the Caves

Our guide was fun and had a great sense of humor. He knew a lot of interesting facts and was very knowledgeable about the Mayan site. Our afternoon was a great kayaking experience. Guide had a great sense of humor, shared fun fauna knowledge. I highly recommend doing kayaks! It was fun and we got a little exercise too!
