The V.i.V. guide will meet you at the airport, Air BnB, hotel lobby, water taxi terminal, cruise port terminal 1 exit street side, we also pickup at the BELIZE sign near the Baron Bliss Lighthouse here in Belize City. the guide will have a V.i.V. sign. San Pedro Air Taxi and San Pedro water taxi tickets is not included in the Lamania tour. the water taxi leaves the islands at 6:00 to arrive at 7:30, last boat returns at 5:30 the air taxi schedules departs at 7:00 and the last flight is 5:30 Cruise tours operate on ship time, arrive early, tour lamania and return onboard .

This was the second time I went on this expedition. The first time was 12 years ago. It was awesome then but probably better this time because the guide was so much more compelling and fun. Last time I went alone. This time I brought a freind knowing it was worth repeating. My friend also thought our guide was fun and informative.

Relaxing hike

We were picked up at the water taxi and we had a short walk to the shuttle pick up. We had tons of great pictures, too many to choose from for this review. Amir was knowledgeable and his wife made the lunch. It was yummy. Because our trip was off season it was just us and one other couple on the tour. I would recommend dousing the clothes you're wearing with camping grade clothing mosquito spray and people spray for yourself.

Excellent Lamanai Tour

Amir was a very friendly and knowledgable guide. During the boat ride to the ruins, he stopped several times to explain several points of cultural and historical significance. He did the same as we walked through the jungle on the way to the ruins. And the tour culminated with an amazing lunch that his wife prepared!

This was such a unique excursion. Elio was a great tour guide. The river boat portion is something you only see in a movie. From the wildlife to just the experience alone of 28 miles of jungle river travel was unreal. The ruins were amazing as well and we even saw the howler monkeys !! Highly recommended

Our tour guide Brenda was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. The area is beautiful, we saw many birds and monkeys. Lunch was delicious.

Great trip! If you don’t see these ruins, you miss a whole aspect of Belize. Julian was a great guide & the ruins are impressive. Lunch delicious! This tour operator was very accommodating with us, as we had missed air connections coming in, and they worked it out so we could go. Thanks!

Good guides, driver was early picking me up. Wish they’d done better on vegetarian options than just giving us the same food as everyone else (rice and coleslaw) minus the main course.

Our river and ruins guide Amir was an eagle-eyed bird finder both on the river and walking through Lamanai, and also knew a lot about jungle plants and their local uses. This really enriched the tour.

Fantastic tour to Lamanai. Led by a small team with knowledgeable and friendly guides to a great site. Driver picked us up at Belize city water taxi dock to accommodate our travel plans. Even lunch was delicious and far exceeded what’s typical on similar tours.

What a great day! The boat ride on the river into the jungle was exhilarating! We enjoyed seeing the wildlife such as crocodiles, turtles, birds, etc. Our guide was so knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the ruins, Mayan culture and the jungle while listening to the howler monkeys! Enjoyed our delicious Belizian lunch as well. It’s definitely a must do trip!

Our tour guide “Junior” was excellent. He knew all of the history and took the time to answer any questions we had. On the boat ride out to Lamanai he would stop and show us all of the different wildlife on the river. At Lamanai he took the time to make sure that our small group avoided all off the big cruise ship tours so that we could get good pictures. Junior was professional and made the tour fun. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

Colin and Junior were amazing guides. They brought the Mayan culture to life with their passion for the history. The river ride was fun and the birds and wildlife interesting. We saw monkeys in the trees at the lamanai site and we had a very nice lunch provided. The temples were amazing and they were shared with us in great detail and we were impressed with how much Belize cares for their history, culture and natural areas. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!

Our party of 6 loved this trip (aged 15 to 69). The van driver made the trip to the boat interesting with facts and stories of Belize. Colin, a skilled eco naturalist, took us down the river in the boat pointing out species of trees, birds and a manatee and the significance of each. The Mayan tour was fascinating enhanced by Colins knowledge of Mayan history and the nature around it as well as viewing the howler monkeys. We highly recommend this tour.

Good trip. Learn a lot about the mayan cultures. Saw one big howler monkey family in backdrop of howler monkey that was amazing. Also out guide junior was amazing as howler monkey whisperer. Food was amazing home made. Wish we would have explored more wildlife on boat ride but all in all great trip.
