Wonderful day

David was a terrific guide. He is knowledgeable of the Hawaiian language as well as history of the islands. The geology of the islands was of particular interest to me. David was very well versed in the geology. Overall it was a terrific experience.

Amazing sights with a diversity of ecosystems

The sights were amazing. The various environments on the island were very diverse although the actual volcano crater was huge but a bit disappointing as we expected to at least see some larva flows. The tour guide was very informative and friendly. However, the tour advised that snacks and water would be available, but we were only offered these once late in the afternoon. Based on that advice we did not bring our own water bottles with us on the flight over or the tour so we were getting quite dehydrated by the end of a very long day.

Aloha and thanks for your feedback. We wish we could see lava flows every day but we do not, it’s a volcano. We do not advertise seeing lava flows, we are a Volcanoes National Park Tour. We visit every eruption possible, because we want to, and it’s amazing. But we state every tour if the volcano is erupting or not and talk about how active it is. Kilauea has been erupting more than not but there have been some long pauses of weeks to months. We were in one of those pauses. We do not say to not bring your own water bottles, most of our guests do, but that we bring water, snacks, and drinks. We stop for the only public tour with a restaurant lunch and snack and drink often. Please just ask anytime if you want more water or snacks. All you have to do is ask.

Dave was an amazing tour guy. He was very knowledgeable about the Hawaiian language and culture. He showed us the most southern point in the US. We got to spend time at the different stops. He took us to a great mom and pop restaurant for lunch. He called ahead and the lunch was served shortly after we arrived. He was very flexible and switched the order of the tour to allow for the rain to clear. Very informative diffently worth the price!

Flexible, informative and fun - it felt like a drive with some (new) friends. Erik taught me sooo much about the island, especially the volcanos and general geography. He shared lots of information in a very chilled, conversational way so it was never boring. We had a mix of active and less mobile people, and Erik kept things flexible so that everyone could be as active as they wanted. Lava fields, waterfalls, turtles and of course coffee. Fabulous tour!

If people are looking for a guide to Volcano National Park plus additional sights around the Big Island, I highly recommend this tour. Not only did we benefit from Erik's geology background in the Park, he is also knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics about Hawaii. He was able to answer questions about flora, fauna, climate and history. The route he took gave us a chance to see how the topography differs from the coast to the interior. I appreciated that our lunch stop was a local restaurant and not some touristy place. Nice variety of snacks. Small size of tour was a real plus. For our family it was the perfect way to see the Big Island.

Fantastic tour beyond expectation! We learned so much from our guide David Human from the cultural and geological aspects of Hawaii Big Island, to correctly pronounce the Hawaiian letters and listening to the interesting legends of the "Ōhi‘a" trees. He kept us engaged and entertained! Really enjoyed the various stops from viewing of turtles on Black Sand Beaches to the lava fields and shores and walk through lava tube. Thank you Dave.

Our guide David H. was great! Enjoyed our stops at Volcano National park very much. I would have enjoyed 10 minutes to shop though. I had to run rot get a sweatshirt. Overall, a very pleasant day and we made a stop at the ocean cliffs we probably would never have seen without this tour. Van was cramped in the back, but we made the best of it. Again, great tour guide who made the 12 hour tour very enjoyable!

Our tour guide Dave was very knowledgeable and friendly. Showed all the different types of lava flows and varying formations around volcano National park. Stop at coffee farm was nice to hear about how coffee harvested and roasted. And stops at Black sand beach, Rainbow falls and Thurston Lava tube were great photo stops. I could have done without the stop at the candy place as we really didn’t learn anything there and it was a Sunday so no candy being made. Overall great tour and I would do it again.
