What To Expect

Boston’s original “frightseeing” tour is an evening of fear and fun. Climb aboard the Trolley of the Doomed for an experience unlike any other. Uncover Boston’s darkest secrets and hear the stories of those lost souls who many locals believe still wander the streets and alleys of this historic town.

Learn about some of the city’s most sinister characters, from Albert DeSalvo, better known as the Boston Strangler, to Jane Toppan, aka Jolly Jane, one of the most prolific serial killers in American history.

Walk through two of the oldest burial grounds in Boston, including Old Granary, the final resting place for many notable Revolutionary War-era patriots like Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Robert Treat Paine, plus Paul Revere and the five victims of the Boston Massacre. Also, visit the site of the biggest grave-robbing scandal in New England’s history.

Come with an open mind and see if any ghosts appear. It’s a ride on the dark side.

Ghost tour
Kelly_W, Sept 2023
We really enjoyed this tour, very entertaining. Petunia and Agnes are great storytellers. You learn interesting and startlingly facts about Boston’s history.
Struggles of going during the evenings
Jowaher_P, Sept 2023
Awesome experience. The staff was in character the entire time and are knowledgeable. Dress for the weather and get comfy shoes cause you’ll be walking around. Doing this in the dark added spookyness during the experience but going where there’s light out is better cause you’ll be able to see the markers that they point out much better.
I love the storytelling...
Rosalinda_V, Sept 2023
I love the storytelling and going in person to the graveyard.. super cool…I would wanted to stop at Boston struggler spots where he had killed the girls and wanted to go inside the Omni to see where he had killed..
Good - Could have been longer
Sandy_S, Sept 2023
Nice tour - was hoping there would have been more than just three stops. Good historical information
Guide Needs Better Group Skills
Arlene_R, Sept 2023
Guide was difficult to understand due to wearing a mask & having no microphone. She spent too much time attempting to be scary. In addition she began presentations before the entire group reached destination. A group of young adults on the trolley were singing during presentations & guide did nothing to curtail the behavior except attempt unsuccessfully to talk over the singing.
Fun and spooky
Esmeralda_F, Sept 2023
Such a fun experience! Our guide was very engaging and he helped set the spooky mood. It was very informative. We were running late but they made sure to contact us to confirm we were heading over and we made it on time! I appreciate that from the team. Thank you! :)
Well worth it!
Alison_O, Sept 2023
Super fun tour!! We had a hard time with Uber and arriving in time- they called us to ask if we were still coming and they waited for us even though we were much later than the designated check in time. The “ghosts” who hosted were fun and engaging and the history was engaging. Boston after dark is beautiful- well worth it!
Ted and Melin's Vacation
Ted_L, Sept 2023
Worth every penny and minute spent. Our guide did an excellent job, wish I had written his name down. We visited two graveyards, we were given great stories of the histories of the sites and wonderful goulish stories. Would do it again if we ever come back.
Cant Miss Tour! Gripping Stories & Talented Tour guides. $5 from each ticket goes to preserving the cemeteries
Michael_B, Sept 2023
This is a can't miss tour. To be honest...The afternoon of the tour we had done a four hour long Boston/Freedom Trail walking tour. We were beat. But we decided to go on the Ghost and Gravestones Tour. I'm over the moon happy we made the decision to go. Your "spirited" tour guide is constantly in character as are many of the characters you meet along the way. The stories are historically accurate, but told with a touch of humor to make even the walking dead laugh. Along with a bus tour, you walk into cemeteries among gravestones that are locked after dark, but your ghost host has the key. You'll hear stories about our founding fathers, serial killers and Molasses. (yes, molasses). The best part: $5 of every ticket sold goes to the preservation of these cemeteries and gravestones!
Good For Burying Ground Access
Stacy_G, Sept 2023
We found this tour a bit hokey, to be honest, but we probably should have expected that. The guides and employees all dress up with face paint and overact in an attempt to look/sound scary. One employee ensured us everyone on the tour would get a window seat (for pictures), but as soon as we boarded, the next employee straight up said, "Nope, sit there," while telling us to sit together. The trolley benches are tight and not meant for tall/big people, especially on a full trolley like we were. The tour content was standard and seemed to fit with similar ghost tour content/stories we heard. We also did get a good laugh toward the end of the tour when all the riders were encouraged to yell at random pedestrians. The real benefit of this tour is the after-hours access to the burying grounds. This tour seems to be the only one that has that nighttime access, so it's cool to be able to stroll among the grave markers in the dark and without a ton of others around. All in all, I'd say - go for the access you get, not necessarily the stories.
Amazing

Amazing experience!! Tour guides were great. Graveyards we’re awesome. Cool seeing all of this at night
Ghost Stories in the Rain
Dorothy_G, Sept 2023
Enjoyed the girls who were the tour guides, loved how they played the roles while telling the stories and loved there costumes. Enjoyed the tour very much despite the rain the whole time we were on the tour.
The way the guides...
Dorin_P, Sept 2023
The way the guides embraced their characters was great - made it fun for all ages. If you’re looking for something different to do, I’d recommend it. Location makes it easy to grab a bite to eat before or after so you don’t feel rushed.
Fun and entertaining
Alison_H, Sept 2023
Very entertaining tour throughout nighttime Boston highlights. Amazing tour guide stayed in full zombie character for 2 straight hours!! Very informative and lots of fun!! Not too scary… 😉
Good location. They...
William_P, Sept 2023
Good location. They tried, but the sound system on the bus was bad, and the man mumbled his words in an attempt to do a “Beetle Juice-like impression” and both of the guides failed to gather the crowd, so half could’nt hear. Public speaking basics?
Lots of fun and a little spooky too!
Megan_S, Sept 2023
It was cool to be able to walk inside the two graveyards that are otherwise locked to the public. I enjoyed that the staff was all in character and I enjoyed hearing the ghost stories. And the trolley is definitely a great way to get around Boston! Highly recommend!
Loved it!

Our 630 Ghosts & Gravestones tour was Awesome! Our tour guide was engaging & made it a wonderful trip
Loads of fun
Cheri_B, Sept 2023
Mal and her team were fun, funny entertaining and just scary enough. Truly enjoyed our evening with them. We'd taken this tour when we visited Boston in 2018, and enjoyed it so much that we decided to take it again. We weren't disappointed. ;-)
Fun! Definitely a cool way to spend 2 hours.
Amanda_D, Sept 2023
Betty was great! Got the feeling that if she just was allowed to share her random facts about murder, ghosts and the like, this would have been a much better tour. Very cool to get access to gravesites at night!
Loved the Ghost and Gravestone Trolley Tour
Rosina_H, Sept 2023
The dedication of the staff to make it a memorable event was outstanding. Learning more about the historic characters of Boston that complimented the hop on hop off trolley day tour was excellent.
