Traveller Tips

We were a little bunched up in places so it might be better to stagger the snorkelers with more groups going through at different times.

No dolphins
mary_N, Feb 2023
Husband enjoyed the snorkelling, but too many swimmers in one space, was disappointed not to see any dolphins. Staff were really good and helpful. Kate who picked us up was a lovely lady
Response from Host, Feb 2023
Hi Mary, thank you for review of See Moreton. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed snorkelling the Tangalooma Wrecks. We see dolphins on average 92% of tours and sadly the dolphins on occasion choose not to come to say hello. As they are wild animals it can be hard to predict their daily behavior. We hope you saw plenty of other wildlife on your tour.

Super fun.
Lynea_W, Jan 2023
Awesome snorkeling around the wrecks but a bit crowded for my liking. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Crew was awesome and the food was great.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Hi Lynea, thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience aboard See Moreton Dolphin & Tangalooma Wrecks Cruise.
Not for snorkeling
Karyna_C, Jan 2023
I really liked the yacht and the crew! Lunch on the yacht was delicious! You could also buy drinks, beer, wine, chips or sweets. The trip was absolutely safe. We got masks, fins and life jackets. Moreton Bay is an amazingly beautiful place. We saw dolphins and sea turtles and many different fish. But I did not rate the trip highly because my wish was a snorkeling! And unfortunately, we were allowed to snorkeling only 45 minutes near Tangalooma wrecks!! Then near 1 hour we spent on the beach. Our trip started at 9.30 am and returned at 5.00 am, we had to spend most of the time on the yacht. I do not recommend this tour if you want to enjoy snorkeling or kayaking!!! but if you just want to ride a yacht - this is an excellent option
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Hi Karyna, thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience with See Moreton. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our vessel Spirit of Migaloo II and saw plenty of amazing wildlife at the beautiful Moreton Island (Mulgumpin). Please refer to our tour itinerary on our website for the approx. time of the snorkel and beach time activities. We hope you had a great time at the Tangalooma Wrecks. Compared to other island day tours in Queensland, Moreton Island is one of the closest islands to a major city. The 70 minute travel time is to be expected when going to a tranquil paradise like Moreton Island. We hope you enjoyed your time and created some lasting memories. Warm regards, Nikki SM Guest Relations

Snorkelling?
Tamika_W, Jan 2023
The main purpose of the trip was to go snorkeling at the Tangalooma Wrecks. This was the worst snorkeling experience. We were given 45 min in the water. All the crew members did was yell. I felt like I was on a school trip. There were so many people huddled together in the water including young children, there was no space to swim. We kept getting yelled at by the crew to stay away from the wrecks, move this way, move that way. If the area was so dangerous to begin with, we shouldn't have been snorkelling there in such large groups, especially with young children. It was unpleasant, and stressful situation. I will not be going on a tour like this again.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Hi Tamika, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the feedback and will take your comments into consideration. It is great to hear that you were able to swim and see the wonderful Tangalooma Wrecks. Passenger safety is of utmost importance to See Moreton and our experienced crew with knowledge of the wrecks will direct passengers through the Tangalooma Wrecks with this in mind. The vessel is surveyed for 190 passengers and we cap tickets at 120 persons for guest comfort. Christmas and New Year’s are extremely busy times for both the island and tour operators. For guests looking for an experience with limited numbers, we recommend travelling outside of peak periods. If you’d like to discuss any aspect of your tour further with a member of our Management Team please feel free to get in touch at info@seemoreton.com.au. Warm regards, Nikki, SM Guest Services

Amazing experience snorkelling on the reef and they made the experience for a first timer feel safe . My daughter viewed a sleeping 80yr turtle in its natural environment.

Jade_C, Feb 2022
My friend and I were onboard yesterday for the all inclusive dolphins and tangalooma wrecks cruise. Due to the unforeseen weather conditions we were not able to happily enjoy the entire experience. We appreciate and hold the crew to the upmost respects for putting the needs and safety first for everyone onboard, to avoid any potential risk caused by the wild weather yesterday. Disappointing we couldn't experience the whole day, we didn't even get beach access
Response from Host, Feb 2022
Dear Jade Thank you for choosing a Dolphin & Tangalooma Wrecks Cruise with See Moreton and the four star review. Unfortunately, Saturday's weather conditions were not as forecasted, and we could not meet our usual high standards. Naturally, you may be feeling disappointed, as are we. We have been in contact with everyone on the tour with further information on reimbursements. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you back under more favourable circumstances.
Great fun on the wreck tour
russell_h, Jan 2022
Amazing day out on the boat. Saw lots of dolphins, turtles and amazing fish at the wrecks. Awesome day trip
Fantastic day out
Suzie_D, Jan 2022
Great day out from Brisbane. Staff and facilities are fantastic. Food was very good. Would definitely recommend. The snorkeling was great with lots of fish varieties, however it was a bit crowded and there was a handful of inexperienced that kept swimming over us, kicking, and cutting us off. Also saw people standing on the coral. Maybe a little more instruction required for beginners, and fewer numbers or letting people spread out a bit more would be great.
Quality Trip

The snorkeling and buffet lunch were excellent, staff were also great and really helpful. Would recommend 👍🏻
