Overview

Venture off-the-beaten-track and explore the UNESCO-listed wilderness of Australia’s tropical north on this full-day tour from Cairns. Journey along the Captain Cook Highway; take a guided hike through the Mossman Gorge and cool off with a dip in the Mossman River. After lunch (included), look out for crocodiles on a scenic cruise down the Daintree River, then continue to Cape Tribulation to trek through the Daintree Rainforest and enjoy magnificent views over the Great Barrier Reef. Mossman gorge and Daintree river. The animals were a real highlight - snake, crocodiles, bats, lizards and even a cassowary!

Steve was very knowledgeable and engaging, he also set expectations correctly. The whole day was a fabulous experience. Walking on the beach at Cape Tribulation was fantastic and being told the history of how it was named, such a beautiful beach shame we couldn’t swim! The oldest rainforest in the world was spectacular and the highlight was seeing sea crocs on Daintree river and a Cassowary walked across the road we were definitely blessed that day.

Too many stops for things...

Too many stops for things that had nothing to do with Mossman Gorge, Daintree Rain Forest & Cape Tribulation. We stopped for lunch (included) and the tour guide sprays everyone with BUG spray. First time I've had to spray for bugs to eat lunch. The extra stops added about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to the tour. Definitely would not recommend.

Thankyou for your comments. We do visit Mossman Gorge, where you walk around the Gorge and can have a swim and morning tea. We then visit the Daintree Rainforest where you have lunch and the river cruise and head over the river to Cape Tribulation where you walk in the Rainforest. Our lunch spot is situated in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest and due to the wet weather conditions at the moment, we like to ensure that our guests can enjoy their lunch without being bitten by mosquitoes.

By far one of the best tours I've ever been on! The whole day was beautifully planned, every place we visited was breath taking, and even the time traveling in between locations was scenic! The van was extremely confortable, all the meals provided were so so delicious, very filling, and at beautiful locations! And last but not least, our tour guide, Jim, was beyond incredible. One of the best guides I've ever had! He took us absolutely everywhere, was so educated (he knew absolutely everything about everything!), and was very passionate about sharing it with us. The whole day he went on with a smile on his face and cracking jokes. It was such a pleasure to have him drive us around and teach us about this beautiful region! Absolute 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend to anyone who's visiting Cairns!

Wonderful day trip to the Daintree Rainforest

We enjoyed this trip very much. It's always nice to get the history behind the places you are visiting. We considered renting a car and doing this trip on our own. Glad we decided to take the tour instead. It's a long day with much to see and it was nice not to have to drive back at the end of the day. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. We had a wonderful lunch at the Daintree Treehouse Restaurant where they educated us on the history and importance of the local produce. The croc cruise in the Solar Whisperer was just ok. He did his best to find crocs for us to see but they were somewhat elusive. We did get to see a large croc on the shore and a couple of baby crocs along the way. Toward the end of the cruise, he spotted another large croc but just cruised on by instead of pulling up closer so we could get a look. It felt a bit rushed. Overall, it was a great day and we would recommend this trip.

Even though we had bad weather we were lucky enough to have an experienced guide that made the trip really interesting. We even git to see a Casseraw bird with his baby at the end of the day.

The trip itself and Michelle the guide could not be questioned. My issue with the trip was the length of time spent on the bus. I think there was too much squashed into the day meaning that travelling long periods on the bus took away from the spectacular

My partner and I had a fantastic day, we saw 3 crocs, 1 alpha male and 2 juveniles. A green tree snake, 3 green frogs, a skink and another beautiful lizard, some bush Turkey things and while we didn't get it on camera a cassowary which was amazing to see in the wild, he was almost bush Tucker! running in front of our van. Cute little red mud crabs, lots of orb spiders and green ants! Such a fab day all thanks to our wonderful and knowledgeable guide Lawrence. Some amazing landscapes to see along the way and at each of the stops we had. Highly recommend and the best thing we did on our trip to Cairns.

Jim, our guide was brilliant! Super knowledgable and really cared about ensuring the best experience for each individual group member. The day was long but you didn’t even realise it as there were so many beautiful stops along the way! Lots of lovely people in our small group to share travel and life stories with. From beginning to end, it was a day to remember. The Daintree Rainforest was ancient and amazing, and swimming in the Mossman Gorge was cool and refreshing. Lunch was delicious! It was fun looking for crocs and learning their names. Cape Trib was breathtaking and the ice cream was yummy. Best of all was our guide Michelle, who made the day what it was. She was so funny and knowledgeable and really loves what she does. She is the best!

A really remarkable and enjoyable day trip. Every location was fascinating and so beautiful. Lunch was really tasty, and we all got to taste some fruits we'd never had before which was really interesting. Really recommend this day trip. It's a long day, but really worth it. This was a great tour. It is long but the guide, Michelle, was excellent. She kept our spirits up and had great stories and insights in the rainforest. The singalong on the ferry was the highlight! Highly recommended
