Green Island
Blake_M, Mar 2023
Green Island is beautiful. We did the glass bottom boat and snorkeling- both were great and well organised. I gave 4 stars not 5 because the island was very hot and it was hard to escape the heat- even the island pool was very warm.

Great

We saw a lot of fish when snorkeling but not so much coral. From the glass bottom boat we saw coral and even some turtles. The Island had great facilities with showers, lockers.
Beautiful Great Barrier Reef and a Rain Forest Adventure!
Larry_S, Mar 2023
Beautiful way to see the Great Barrier Reef and the only Rain Forest on a coral atoll. A truly a unique adventure! The snorkeling at Green Island is fantastic once you get past the sea grass - tons of fish as well as occasional sea turtles. The rain forest and national park are also beautiful and are designed to give insights into this unique habitat and ecosystem.
Worth the trip

Activities were well organised by the parties offering their services. However I found that Viator emails very confusing and there was a total lack of information with regards to knowing who we were meeting at meeting point as we were not part of a group booking but just a couple taking this experience
Great way to spend the day

Great area. Very polite customer service. Will you get the snorkel equipment and stinksuits. Snorkelling was amazing. Food was great.
Amazing time!

What a beautiful piece of paradise! We did the glass bottom boat tour, and it was amazing! Not the cloudy glass affair you get at most places that offer such tours. Beautiful reef view and so many varieties of fish! Even a sea turtle! The snorkeling was even more amazing! Only suggestion is to bring your own mask and snorkel. The supply they have on the island is a bit worn.
Nice trip!

Trip was awesome! Glass boat Captain Ashley was amazing, kept us out longer than she was supposed to because we kept spotting more turtles. The water is so clear and beautiful. Food options are limited, it is an island, but there are enough options to satisfy. Birds are everywhere so protect your food! Plenty of showers to rinse off after a swim.
Fantastic fun

Very memorable. Loved every moment of it. Would defiantly recommend it to family and friends. Especially loved the fish and turtles.
Perfect day out
Amanda_B, Feb 2023
Had a wonderful day at the island. Weather was perfect all day and the water was super calm. Marine life was pretty and got to swim with turtles, sting rays, sharks and abundance of tropical fish.
Great location
Marie_W, Jan 2023
The variety and multitude of sea life here made for better snorkeling than the GBR, believe it or not. Saw many turtles, pipefish, octopus, reef shark, and much more. No complaints about operators, other thanthey did at first try to charge extra for a stinger suit, which was not cool. Didn't try the food, only coffee.
Great day with the family!

We had a fabulous day! Everything was very well organised. Plenty to do, see and enjoy on the island. Kids loved snorkelling and the glass bottom boat. Make sure you make time to see the Marine Melanesia on the island. Five stars!
Definitely do this! Better than tours to the Outer Reef.

What an incredible experience. This was the second snorkel adventure of our trip and definitely the better suited one for little kids (3.5 and almost 6 in our case). The boat trip was just long enough to enjoy, ran on schedule and provided ample indoor and outdoor seating. The dive shop was efficient in doling out snorkels, fins, stinger suits (also great for not getting sunburned!) and life vests for the kids. We chose the 8:30 departure/4:30 return and were easily able to fill in our time. The snorkeling: You go from a beach with a lifeguard, a beach without a lifeguard or the jetty. Rest floats are available. The diversity of fish is just as great as reefs further out and being able to access them from the beach at your own pace versus being on a crowded platform on Outer Reef tours was a game changer for our littlest one. The Glass Bottom Boat: For those who can't or won't snorkel this was magical. For those who can it's a different look than the areas around the island for snorkeling. The fish swim right up to and under the boat. Big and small, you'll see it all. The driver of the boat was very knowledgeable and tolerant of our kids asking questions. Thirty minutes was the perfect length and broke up our day quite nicely. When you tire of snorkeling: you can rent chairs with an umbrella on the beach, go for a walk along the rainforest path or use the island pool of which we did a considerable amount. The facilities were very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The crowds: We went on a Sunday and it's unclear whether we lucked out that it wasn't that crowded or people can just space out enough along the beach and older kids and adults just don't use the pool much but it felt like a much more intimate experience. TLDR: Definitely do this, especially with littler kids. It's a more relaxed pace seeing the same awesome stuff with a variety of activities available, not just snorkeling (although you can snorkel all 7 hours if you choose).
Green Island for snorkelling
Justyne_B, Jan 2023
Green Island is a very picturesque place to snorkel and wonder at your own leisure. Our children got to snorkel for the first time and had a blast. Down under adventure boats are welcoming and very accommodating.
