What To Expect

Your half-day trip to Isla Mujeres begins with pickup at your hotel in Cancun, after which you'll be transferred to the marina in an air-conditioned van.

Board your clean, comfortable boat for a sailing trip over the turquoise waters offshore. Stop for snorkeling (all gear provided) among the marine life that inhabits the surrounding reefs.

Back on board, dig in to chips, guacamole, and salsa, and sip drinks from an open bar. The staff on board is there to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

Go ashore on the island of Isla Mujeres, where you'll spend free time exploring on your own. Head back to the mainland around 4pm, then enjoy convenient drop-off back at your hotel.

An amazing experience and definitely recommend. It ended up being myself and my boyfriend and only one other couple. Crew was super nice and helpful. I was a little nervous to snorkel but it was so beautiful, so happy we did this tour!

Few tips

We were picked up from our hotel, when we arrived we were told the other ten people that booked the excursion didn’t make the trip. To be honest, it’s probably because they didn’t make you aware of your pick up time until very very late the night before, I just happened to keep checking everywhere on the app for a message of a pick up time. I didn’t see it until 6am the morning of the excursion. We were the only ones on the boat, which was nice. Isla Mujeres is beautiful but you get dropped off at a tourist trap where you get harassed every two feet. Overall, the trip was great except towards the end. We gave a pretty generous tip, one of the guys had the audacity to ASK for an additional $20. He said we were “VIP” but that’s only because the others didn’t make the trip lol also they have a photographer on the boat that’s pushy about having you pose and tries to sell you a package for $200. If you book, make sure you know your pick up time, be prepared to have everyone in Isla Mujeres try to sell you everything, tip what you feel is fair and don’t feel pressured to buy the photo package.

Thank you so much for this information that you kindly wrote, I will see who was the person that ask you for extra charge because you were VIP... we have the regular activity and there is not such a VIP tour, if you were the only ones in the Catamaran and the other persons did not make there is not a difference since this is a share tour. All I can say Charlie and crew were exceptional! They rolled out the red carpet and had the best hospitality. This was the highlight of my Cancún stay. Had a litttle one on this trip and Charlie made sure he was safe and very attentive, my son was apprehensive at first but afterwards he didn’t want to leave the tour.

The boat ride and the island tour was great. The snorkeling was ok but you have to be a good swimming and there was not enough explaining on how to use the snorkeling gear. The snorkeling part is not for a first time snorkelers

Catamaran Crew was fantastic, everything was clean and sailing was smooth. Snorkeling was not our first experience but we still enjoyed it, especially underwater sculptures. I would recommend this trip wholeheartedly. The only thing was transportation. Pick up driver and drive was nice and clean however way back to hotel in different car and driver was not great. Car was not clean and almost broke down.

Joel and his staff were the best hosts. They were informative about the days events, made sailing fun, provided the tastiest treats and the most delicious drinks. From start to finish our family laughed, made memories and had an amazing time. When visiting Isla Mujeres, we opted to rent golf carts in order to get around the island quicker. The staff recommended North Beach which didn't disappoint. Afterwards were strolled the streets, chatted with vendors while buying souvenirs and found a quaint cafe to have some cold island beers before heading back to the boat. On on return sail the drinks kept flowing, the music kept the energy high and the captain even anchored so we could get one final jump and swim in the Caribbean Ocean before heading back to shore. The staff went above and beyond to make the excursion memorable, thanks again Joel & Crew!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I chose this activity to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. There were plenty of drinks and a good amount of time to wander the island on our own. A lot of the shops accept card if you don't have cash and there's an ATM. I ended up backing out of doing the snorkeling because I'm not a confident swimmer and instead I got a professional photoshoot, a lot of tequila, and enjoyed the gorgeous view. Overall wonderful experience!

Antonio, José and the rest of the crew were amazing! Snorkeling was just long enough without being exhausting, and there were some beautiful fish out. The time on the island was just enough and it was easy to find our meeting place. Our trip was a little short of 5 hours and it was the perfect amount of time. Highly recommend!

This was my favorite excursion while in cancun. The boat was relaxing but had great music, food and unlimited drinks. Had so much fun on this boat with Antonio and his crew. Antonio has an outgoing personality that made him the perfect guide. The snorkeling part was pretty quick. There’s a review here saying that he was lost at sea because he wasn’t a strong swimmer. I felt like the current carried us most of the way, I’m a decent swimmer but for the most part I just floated. And it’s important to stay aware of your surrounding and making sure you’re following your guide and group. The rest of the boat ride had beautiful views and like I said great food and drinks. Went to the island Mujeres and just relaxed on the crystal clear water beaches til our time was up. Had so much fun, would highly recommend to a friend.

We had time to do everything we wanted to do without having too much time on our hands. This was a five hour trip compared to the eight hour trip that most excursions to the island offer. I know having extra time on vacation is usually something people want but 8 hours in the sun is a long day. We had time to do everything we wanted to do without feeling rushed.

I got lost in the water during snorkeling since I couldn’t see without my glasses since I had to take them off for the snorkeling there is other tours there and people swimming I tried to keep up but I’m not a fast swimmer I realized the person in front of me was not from my group and had a different life jacket on I kept swimming to what I thought could be the bit another tour guide told me to stay with my group I told him I couldn’t see because I don’t have my glasses I don’t think he understood so someone else translated he told me to follow him because it was dangerous for me to stay there he asked what was the name of the company I told him I didn’t know just knew the guide name is franky he told me to get on a rescue boat they asked me the same questions and I don’t think they understood either they took me to my boat and everybody asked what happened one girl said they kept saying we are missing someone and looking for me than I showed up it’s not a lot of time to spend on the island we got there alittle over 2 n had to be back at 4 so went to the beach the water there is better than Cancun and waves not as strong the tacos with rice n beans from a restaurant by the isla mulres sign are good I followed three people from the boat so I wouldn’t get lost again than had to wait for transportation once we got off the boat had to deal with a ignorant guy that was part of the group making comments to show his friend my cookies

This was a great excursion! It was perfect for our schedule and those that don't have a lot of time in the country. We were able to catch an early flight, get to our hotel and get picked up for the excursion. The paparazzi did a great job with the pictures and videos! The snorkeling was the best I've experienced yet. I would do this exact tour again. Thank you!

We had an AWESOME day. My girlfriend and I were on the boat with a bachelorette trip as well as a few other couples that were super friendly and fun. The boat was nice and clean and of sufficient size for the 17 total people that were on it. The water is beautiful. On the way to the island we stopped to snorkel and it was a fantastic snorkel, excellent and gorgeous marine life - definitely bring an underwater camera if you have one! After the snorkel the beverages started rolling! Crew came and asked you what you wanted and then they brought it to you so you didn't even have to get up for it. They also brought out chips and guac. Not a large portion so eat ahead of time, bring snacks, or plan to eat while on Isla Mujeres. We had about 1.5-2 hours on Isla Mujeres that was enjoyable. Lots of souvenir shopping and restaurant options. Can also rent a moped or golf cart and see the whole island during that time. The freelance photographers that were on board were amazing. They were posing you individually and with your group as well as taking candid photos. They also took underwater photo and video with a GoPro during the snorkeling. I usually never spring for this kind of photo package because they're a rip off and not worth it but these guys were great and after reviewing the pictures we purchased them without hesitation. I would definitely recommend this trip! It was our favorite day of our trip.
