Good, worth it, but not quite as advertised

The tour was on the hole very good. Tulum was very grand and Flash our guide appeared friendly and knowledgeable about the Mayan city. I was expecting a walk round the city with him but instead we had some free time after his explanation to explore ourselves. When we got to the activity centre the food was tasty the Ziplining was amazing and felt very safe. However, it wasn’t quite as advertised… There was no jungle trek we just drove to the activity centre from Tulum You do not repel into an underground cave just down the side of one of the zip line towers We didn’t snorkel in the Cenote but we were given masks without snorkels so we could look underwater Plus the pictures indicate you zip line into a cenote which doesn’t happen The day was good just different to how it was described and it felt a little rushed because some of the group took their time which then had a negative impact later in the day (we had to rush and the cenote swim was cut short)

Our guide. Enrique Candia, was AWESOME!! I am a 71 year old cancer survivor and have poor balance and issues with my feet but Enrique went above and beyond assisting me needed and was just amazing in every way! Two-thirds of group was Spanish speaking and 1/3 English and he spoke both languages perfectly. He was the best!

The web description listed the Tulum ruins visit first on their itinerary. Instead we spent a long part of the day at the adventure park zip lining, rappeling, and snorkeling in the cenote. The Mayan style lunch was delicious! Then we visited the archaeological site with our very knowledgeable guide. Bring a change of clothes so that you have dry ones when you go to the ruins after. Great guide! The van ride was very crowded and uncomfortable in the back, but that wasn't a big deal compared to such a great day!

This was a great tour. Our guide, Allen(hope i got the spelling corect), was friendly, welcoming and Informative. I had a great time. My favorite was the Cenote snorkeling. The lunch they offered was also tasty and authentic. The one things to note is that, they do not let you take your cameras or phones unless you have a go pro that can be fixed to a helmet. If you need the photso for later, they charge you $60. So consider adding that yo your price when you book this tour.

Trip was amazing! Lorenzo at the zip lines was awesome. Josue at the ruins was amazing. Lots of fun and history! The ziplining was so fun and the cenote was such a cool experience.

The tour guides are excellent in Cancun. We had a great time. We saw iguanas at the ruins. The cenotes was amazing and the zip lining on this tour was magnificent, there are 7 lines. You have to be in good shape because you have to go up 5 flights of stairs or more foe each line. Thrill seekers will enjoy this Jungle Tour.

I would recommend checking w your resort where excursion pick up is. We were told by Viator to wait in the lobby and they would come in and call our name. That is not what happened We waited in the lobby 20 minutes past our pickup time and kept looking out the window and finally checked with a bellhop. He told us excursions pick up is the bus pick up area down the way We had to run but thankfully our driver waited 20 minutes. Also Viator told us to bring bug spray and use in the jungle for the zip lining. We were not allowed to use bug spray because it is Sacred ground

Disappointed in this trip and our guide

My husband and I booked this trip, and while it was a good experience, it could honestly be improved. I am a history teacher. Our guide, German, did not know a lot and some of his information was incomplete and inaccurate, and so I had to correct him and tell the people in the group the correct information about the site. He kept stopping for us to read the information, which we could have easily done on our own. The trip began as a small group and we were picked up in a van vs a large bus, which was nice. German, our guide let us sleep until our first stop. He should have talked to us 10-15 before arrival to the cenote and jungle zip line. Why? Because it would have been important to know NOT to put sunscreen on before entering the cave (because it can damage the eco life) and to put on bug spray. This trip does not tell you about the mosquitos. I literally have 64 bites on my legs, by husband has several on his back. The group was just attacked the entire time. Repellant does NOT work! This is really terrible. The lunch they serve is one small portion. Kinda ridiculous since no one had any breakfast based on the time of pick up. The hotel opens breakfast 7 am. We were picked up at 7 am. The lunch was very tiny. So no breakfast, small lunch, and then we only had 15 minutes at the end of Tulum to shop or eat. Basically we didn't get to eat until 6:30 PM when we got back to the hotel. I have been to Tulum before. I was so disappointed! The reef is ruined and washed up on the beach. Before you could access the beach and the guide would give us time after the tour to go down to the beach. Now, the water is brown and the sand is full of dead reef, so you can't even go down. This would be nice to know since a ton of people walked out with their swimming suits and snorkel gear, only to discover you can't even go down to the beach anymore. German only gave us 15 minute after the ruins, to use the restroom or shop. My last guide recommended where to go, we could get food, and a strong margarita. While German was an okay guide, he didn't have the knowledge or know anyone locally to build those connections. Also, if you pick up someone first, you should drop them off first, like the other guides did. That would be courteous, since we had to miss breakfast to be picked up first. It would have been nice to get dropped off 30 minutes before everyone else vs. last so we could have finally eaten. Least favorite trip out of all the ones we took in Mexico.

Had a great time! Everyone was knowledgeable and made it enjoyable the entire time. The Cenote is beautiful and ziplines are fun, no cheesy short runs like in many places. Tulum is extremely hot as there is very little shade but we had an amazing time there and our tour guide was top notch. Allowed us to walk with him as he explained a lot about it or would let you go on your own if you just wanted to explore.

This was the best tour we’ve been on so far! It was better than the Chichen Itza ruins tour we did the day prior. It starts off by the tour shuttle bus picking you up in the cancun hotel zone and driving the 2 hours to Tulum. On the way there we stopped at Jungla Maya Native Park. There, they give everyone group lockers to lock up your valuables and belongings and then they have you change into your bathing suit and the ziplining starts. You won’t get a chance to come back to your locker until afterwards. I highly recommend standing in the shade as much as possible while on this tour because they do not allow you to wear sunscreen because it hurts the cenotes (caves) you’ll be swimming in. I also recommend bringing water shoes, as sandals will fly off when ziplining. They’ll have you do 2 ziplines and then the 3rd you’ll actually zipline into a cenote, which is pretty cool.afterwards they bring you to this beautiful cenote and you get to snorkel in it, and while you do that, your guide will bring you to this small opening in the wall and you’ll get a chance to swim in a small bit of underground cave with bats above you. After all this, they do 1 more zipline and then they actually have you rappel down into a cenote, which I thought was awesome. Afterwards they give you a small lunch. Overall, I would highly highly recommend and the tour guide, Jesus, was great. This is a moderately active tour. They do not allow cameras, cellular phones or go pros on the tour. At the end of the tour you will be given the option to buy there expensive photos, which I did for $75 (couples photos).

ADVENTUROUS JUNGLE TOUR + MAYAN RUINS

THIS WAS THE MOST FUN TOUR I HAVE EVER BEEN ON. seriously worth every penny. we went to a little jungle owned by a family of mayan people, then a tour guide took us on a short hike through the jungle (less than one km) and we took a zip lining tour through the rest of it!! we snorkeled in two cenotes that were GORGEOUS and the guide, eric, was extremely knowledgeable about the formation of the rocks and about the history of the place. we then repelled down a well to another cenote, zip lined into a different one, experienced a traditional (non religious) mayan ritual in the original mayan tongue and had a DELICIOUS home cooked meal from the locals. after this (i know that was already a lot but there’s more) we took a ten minute bus ride into tulum and experienced the amazing history of some ancient mayan ruins. we were able to see a village that housed about 3000 people, including a temple, many houses, architectural wonders that you can still see some color on, and many beautiful landscapes. oh, and did i mention we never had to wait in a line for any of it??!! it was the best experience and i would hands down recommend it to anyone traveling to cancun, tulum, or any part of the yucatán peninsula.

This tour was so much fun. It’s divided into two separate parts. In the morning, we started off zip lining through the threes to reach the cenotes that we got to swim in. The cenotes are located on property owned by a Mayan family. So only the people on the tour had access to go swimming in it. Which was awesome because that meant there was not a huge crowd. Alex was our tour guide for the first half of the day and he was extremely knowledgeable about Mayan history and traditions, and the land we were on. He was also extremely safe in every activity and fun to be around! In the afternoon, we were taken to see the Mayan ruins in tulum. Our guide took us past the crowded entry lines and toured us around the ruins for about an hour. So beautiful! Near the ruins is also where there are fun little shops to explore. All around, a great time! Definitely would recommend
