Overview

Experience tablecloth dining along with the Cirque du Soleil® show 'JOYÁ' at the Vidanta Riviera Maya resort. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by the story of an alchemist and his granddaughter seeking out the secrets of life. The show draws on the heritage and history of Mexico to weave the story, presented in an intimate dinner theatre in the jungle of the Riviera Maya.

Pickup details

Round transportation service is available from Plaza La Isla Shopping Village in Cancún to the theater. The cost of this service is $600.00pesos per person. To add this service, the client must contact the Customer Care Center of the attractions - phone numbers available in the voucher that you will receive when you book the tour. The pick up is at 4:00pm and 7:15pm. Customer service: Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (CST). 1-844-247-7837 (US/ Canada)  800-247-7837 (México)  +52-322-176-1421 (Rest of the world) 

What To Expect

After pickup from a central meeting point in Cancun's hotel zone, travel to the tropical forest north of Playa del Carmen. Arrive at JOYÁ's custom-built theater, the first permanent Cirque du Soleil show outside of the United States.

As the show begins, immerse yourself in the adventures of a teenage girl and her alchemist grandfather. After finding a mysterious gem in the mangrove forest, the young girl must complete a series of challenges set out by her grandfather. After the show has concluded, enjoy transportation back to Cancun.

  • Your tickets will be held at the theater box office for collection on the day of the performance. You will be required to present your voucher, along with photo ID in exchange for your tickets.

  • Champagne included in food and beverage experiences can be exchanged for red wine, white wine, juice, water or soft drink, directly in the theater with your waiter.

    Great seats - Easy purchasing - Highly recommend going through Viator in the future for shows and tours
    Plan to arrive 45 min prior to the show so you have some extra time worked in.
    a walk up to the main event is steep but they offer wheel chairs.

    It was a great show. However, read the fine print if you book with the dinner. The departure is NOT the departure time. That is the START time for the dinner then the show is an hour later.

    5 times here. Everything is top notch, the food, the service, the show. Juat the show alone is great but if you can afford to, do the meal. They change a little bit of the show each year. NO seat is bad.

    My family and I recently saw JOYA and were amazed! Having seen Cirque du Soleil shows before we knew what to expect and this show delivered. The grounds are unique and picturesque as you approach the theater. There is a not a bad seat in the place. We went for the appetizers/champagne option and it was a perfect amount of food after a late lunch. My kids are 3, 5 and 7 and all three sat and watched in awe. I highly recommend this show if you are in the area.

    The acrobats were good but the story line is not. Did not appreciate the slightly sexual humor and thing it is a little scary for young children.

    The venue is stunning. The dinner was absolutely fabulous and left us in the front row for the show. With delightful humor and interactive actors, we were smiling the whole show! The acrobatics are scaled down compared to traditional cirque shows, but still very impressivea and so intimate. They literally perform in the middle of the audiences tables! As for the Spanish/English, just enough English was spoken so the show maintained it's true Mexican charm. S uch a great night! Dinner is worth it for not just amazing cuisine but for the primo seats!

    What a great show!! I have seen many different cirque du Soleil performances and this one will sit at the top of my favorites list. Way too much to mention.. So all I can say is go see it.. you won’t be disappointed. Side note: we bought the premium package and our seats were absolutely amazing!

    Let me start with a little background. I have been to practically every single Cirque in Las Vegas. I have also gone to a few of the pop-up tent ones in California. However, the last Cirque I went to was back in maybe 2019. So my experiences may be outdated. Prior to entering the Cirque theatre there’s a restaurant—Nektar, where you can eat and grab drinks.. For a family of 5, we chose that route. However, I heard that the Cirque dinner is quite good. The Cirque gift shop was very tiny. They had clothing mostly. There were also various mugs and flasks and animal headware. Upon entering the theatre, you are taken to your seat. We decided to get the table seats. They are located to the side of the stage. For the same price you can get the high top seating. They are just a couple rows back and more center-aligned. The stools have a mid-back support. They may have been a better chose but our seats were fine too. The first thing I was not used to, was being restricted from purchasing my own snacks and drinks. Some might consider that VIP service. There are wait staff fulfilling your request before the show starts. So for a 6:30 show time, the show starts at 7. The second thing missing was what I would call the pre-show. They had performers playing music. I’m more used to some performers interacting with the audience prior to the show. Third, there is no intermission. I would say the entire show was probably around 75mins. Hope this helps, enjoy the show!
