It was a great experience exploring Mayan history. Totally worth the tour as Tulum was a great start, then refreshed in a Cenote along with a buffet lunch followed with Coba and Playa del Carmen. Tour guide Galo made our day and thanks to Orlando (Driver) as well.

Bitten up like a beat down in Tulumm
vernice_s, Sept 2023
Our tour guide was the worse we've ever experienced and I've used viatar for.tours all over the world...picking up all the guests took over 3 hours..the bus/ van was uncomfortable..our.guide primarily spoke Spanish..we got bitten up severely in Tulum when our tour guide stated there weren't mosquitoes in Tulum and she discouraged me from walking 200 yards to get our bug repellent in the van..she said I could go back but she was going to continue walking and not wait for me..meanwhile my husband was miserable as he got over 20 bites .I had on leggings n long sleeve shirt I still got over 15 bites...it really affected our experience plus when we mentioned to her btw her name was carmen..she brushed it off and said we're all getting bitten up ..she was starting to argue with my husband becsuse he was miserable..Not to mention mosquitoes cause disease and covid cases are on the rise again..we didn't get back to our resort until 7pm from 5am in the mouring...too long and didn't feel like.we got our money's worth
Great time
Jon_S, Aug 2023
The ruins were great. Our guide at Telum was very informative. The waters at the Cenote were refreshing. The only feedback is that we always seemed rushed to get to the next place. We didn’t have very much time at each place. I’m sure it’s because of all of the travel time involved. Also, instruction on what to do at each place was too limited. When we went to Coba, we didn’t know where to go to get bike rental or even to enter into the park. All in all, I recommend the tour. Great places to visit. Food was authentic and great.
Disappointing experience
Raj_S, Apr 2023
The bus ride was very comfortable. Mina was a very friendly guide. The meal provided was very good. The English speaking guide at Tulum did not explain anything and he was in a great hurry. Two suggestions for improvement 1. Amigo tours needs to improve the quality of their guides in explaining the places and they should lead the guests at all times. In Coba we were left on our own and it was indeed disappointing. Other tourist agencies do a better job in accompanying and explaining the places 2. Water should be provided as a courtesy to the guests. It is a common practice to provide water to the guests, that i have seen with the other tour operators

A great tour!! Our guide was very informative and made the experience very fun with her beautiful personality! The ruins were amazing with a very beautiful ocean view at the top of the main structure area. This is a must do!

Great tour
Emily_K, Jan 2023
The tour was very good. Tulum is very nice and our tour was great. The Mayan village with the cenote was also quite nice and the buffet was delicious. Coba is lovely but one hour is not enough time to explore, even on bike. You really do have just enough time to snap a few photos and leave. However at the end of the tour, I wanted to walk back to my hotel at Playa del Carmen. Our tour guide told me to wait because she had a bag to give me when she dropped me off. I tried to tell her a few times I wanted to leave but she insisted I stay. So I waited an hour on the bus and then a car came to drop me off. They dropped me off at the wrong hotel, insisted it was the right one (insinuating I'm too dense to know where I was picked up), and then I never got a bag. It took up an hour of my time and seemingly for no reason.

Great sites, but recommend different company.
Donald_L, Jan 2023
Tour sites were great, but company was an hour late for the 4:50 am pickup reportedly due to mechanical issues, but the company didn't inform us of delay the delay and we were hung up on twice when trying to call the company. Multiple hotel stops for pickups. Friendly guide, but the English translation was a bit difficult to understand.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Dear Donald_L, we are really sorry to read your experience wasn't 5 stars, we have investigated your case and have been informed that the tour guide had an inconvenience which made her arrive late, we are very sorry about this, thank you for letting us know, hope you have a nice day! Best things to do Cancun
Manuel_C, Nov 2022
Was taken to one of the most beautiful places to visit in Cancun, Tulum beautiful beach, Mayan ruins and a great history lesson followed by a swim in an amazing Cenote. The tour guide Esther was the best made the trip fun yet educational teaching us the history of the Mayans. Would definitely recommend this trip with #amigotours.

Dear Manuel_C, we are very happy to know that you have enjoyed the tour alongside our dear colleagues, we hope to see you again! Ivana, Amigo Tours
Very organised tour. The crew were very professional
Maria_E, Oct 2022
The tour was very organised and the schedule for the day was explained very well. Why I gave it 5* is because the tour crew Esther, Melanie and Fabian were very professional. They were more concerned about our enjoyment and not once mentioned the 'tip' word or how much they were entitled to receive. Of course, I was more than happy to tip with the kind of service that was provided.

Dear Maria_E, we are so glad to know you had a nice time with our dear partners, thank you for leaving your review, hope to see you again soon! Ivana, Amigo Tours
Poor👎
Lucy_L, July 2022
We were told to meet the driver @6:00 am then the night before I got another email telling us to be by the bellboy by 5:25 am from a “ Amigo tour” . Just in case, we got up very early and started waiting by the front door ( even the bellboy was surprised) at around 5:20 am . Very disappointed nobody showed up so I asked the front desk to call for us as the phone # was invalid then we tried the other one from viator website. They told us they were here and took a picture of “ empty “ lobby!!!!!! What a lier and unbelievable response from the service! Your irresponsible arrangement ruined our trip and your reputation. Never will try your service again.
Response from Host, July 2022
Dear Lucy_L, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, unfortunately our Cancun team told us that you did not show up at the agreed pick up time. We deeply regret that you could not be part of this trip, Mariana, Amigo tours
It’s Definitely Worth It
Victoria_T, June 2022
The entire experience was amazing. Galo (I hope that how it’s spelled) was a very entertaining and informative guide. We were the first to just about all the stops and was able to enjoy all the activities without a crowd. There were some extra expenses though.
It was a great experience

This was a great tour. Jam packed with the must see places. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. Definitely worth it!!
Great trip
Amrita_M, Mar 2022
The tour was great value for money. We got to do lots of places in a short time. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. However, Playa Del Carmen was just a walk through and no beach which should’ve been specified before. There was also a fee to enter Coba which we were not told before. This had to be done in pesos and we only had US dollars. In Coba, we should’ve been told to use the bicycles as the length of the trail was very long to walk. Overall it was a good experience but these little points would’ve been nice to know before.

Amazing tour and tour guide
Sarah, Mar 2020
This tour was amazing!!! Renee and Rogilio (our driver and tour guide) were great and I would highly recommend this to anyone. I researched a lot of tours before choosing this. Yes, it is a super early start on your vacation in Mexico but SO WORTH IT!!! you beat all of the crowds and it is much cooler. Unfortunately I can't remember if Renee or Rogilio was the guide but he did such an awesome job. He is Mayan and very educated. You can tell how proud he is of his culture and how much he loves telling the stories of their history. You get approx 1.5 hours after tour to explore on your own and there are shops and food. the mexican restaurant there was awesome also. If you are looking for a Tulum tour, this is your best bet!!

Bring bug spray
Terry_W, Nov 2019
Tulum is in the jungle so bug spray was a must to bring but it was not listed on paperwork so we purchased it once we arrived at Tulum. Be careful, this tour was not with an archeologist as expected. I was looking forward to a expert who could take us through Tulum and we did not get that. Our tour guide did speak both Spanish and English but you have to listen close to the presentation in order to hear everything that is said because he will speak English then repeat in Spanish. We would recommend seeing Tulum.

Brief trip, we got what we expected
nfanni219, Sept 2019
The bus picked us up on time at the meeting point as promised and took us straight to Tulum without stopping at any souvenir shops or anywhere else, so we got to Tulum pretty early, which was excellent to avoid the crowd and the extreme heat. Our tour guide, Nestor was really nice and helpful, however, he spoke more Spanish than English, even though it was supposed to be a bilingual tour (have to add, my 2 friends and I were the only English speakers in the group and whatever we asked, he was answering kindly). First we had a guided tour of approx. 1 hour and then 1 hour to explore the area on our own. At the end, we had some time for souvenir shopping so we had enough time for everything. Even though he showed us around in the souvenir shop and introduced some vendors, none of them were pushy so we weren't forced to buy anything. We would totally recommend participating on this trip.

Book with Another Company
Bunky46, Aug 2019
Our trip was just a series of sales pitches. Instead of putting us on one of the transports, our guide made us walk the considerable distance to the ruins. We left the tour, caught a convenient transport and recovered at a nice little restaurant. My wife has difficulty walking great distances and this along with the unnecessary sales pitches for tequila and chocolate ruined our experience.
