The guides will say the tour name out loud. - Upon your pickup, please present your printed or digital voucher and photo ID for boarding the bus to obtain a bracelet for entering into the park. - If by the time you purchase the ticket you do not have the hotel yet, you must contact the Customer Service Viator staff at least 24 hours prior to the visit to the park to help you to coordinate the pickup with us. - You must be 10 minutes early at the assigned location. - Transportation service is not private so you will share the bus with some other visitors of Grupo Xcaret.

What To Expect

After pickup at your Cancun hotel or central meeting point, travel in air-conditioned comfort to Xcaret Park outside of Cancun. This Xcaret excursion offers activities for every interest, from history to ecology to adventure.

Explore the underground caverns beneath the jungle, once used by the Mayans for cleansing rituals before sailing to Cozumel Island, a sacred site. Keep an eye out for brightly-colored macaws, deer, and monkeys as you wander through the network of subterranean tunnels.

Discover the orchid garden, a favorite of nature-lovers and amateur botanists. Check out the butterfly pavilion and the aviary, as well as the aquarium featuring specimens of gorgeous coral reefs. Head to the beach to relax, swim in the warm, calm waters, or snorkel with sea turtles. Most of these activities are included in your admission to Xcaret. Prices for additional activities may vary.

If you want to extend your outing at Xcaret in Cancun, stay for the Excaret Mexico Espectacular, a show full of folkloric entertainment, dancing, and music. Follow the narrative of Mexican history from the pre-Columbian era until modern day through the performers.

An absolutely amazing day, lots of activities to do so be sure to plan your day well to take advantage of everything. Reflecting on it, I’d recommend doing a two day trip here if you plan to do everything! Enjoy it, we certainly did!

Xcaret a must in Cancun

Loved the river under the cave and the dolphins experience is a must. Definetly need to spend more than one day to see it all and experience it but it is a memorable place.

I liked this park, if you have small children this is the park for you! Other then that everything was extra and the dinner for the show we paid $90 person and it was not at all worth it a waste of money!! The show was cool and there was stuff to look at but other then that everything was extra and it only included one meal!! For the price it’s not worth it, just my opinion!!

This is an awful experience that isn’t worth the money at all. You pay a lot of money to get into the park and then have to pay approximately $75 per person per main excursion option on arrival. Everything is a hard sell! Even down to the $40 waterproof phone cases for the lazy river that smells so bad in places we nearly got out the water. We paid $40 per person at an on-site restaurant for a buffet where the food is so terrible even the wild animals stayed away. Also, they have dirty and tiny enclosures where you feel so bad for the captive animals inside.

That park from top to bottom is was worth the money. The plus package is 100% worth is and saves you money in the long run. Food was amazing and park was fantastic. Its a total pity about the misogynistic rude xcaret tour guides. Both guides for the transportation were ruide, unhelpful and just wanted to sell you items. I would 100% go again but will never deal with the ignorance of these guides again. I would not tolerate how they treated me and my wife again.

The up-sell starts the minute you get on the bus

Visited Xcaret on Friday 4/14. The park is very nice and the river floats were interesting. The park is not inexpensive to visit. With transportation from Cancun Hotel Zone hotels it was over $200 USD/pp and that just gets you in the door. A good portion of the 1 hour plus ride was a marketing/sales presentation to introduce you to all the add on experiences. That was not enjoyable. If you want to be nickel and dimed at every turn then this is the trip for you. I’d pass on doing it again.

I enjoyed the shows,the beach, and the exhibits. The excitement was unending. The river was amazing and seeing the animals was so educational. I have to come back and complete the tour.

Not worth the money!

The transfer was 3hrs not 1.5hrs as stated, including pick up at MANY hotels….the guide was very pushy trying to upsell extra activities rather than focusing on telling us about all the amazing things included in the ticket! The staff were also VERY pushy when you got to the park to upsell photos/water/activities it was very intense! the park is also quite tired and dirty now, we visited 10years ago and it was amazing but what we saw this time was a world apart which is such a shame! The coach included in the plus ticket also only departs at 4pm or 9.30pm which was too early and too late for us so we spent $100 USD on a cab to get back to our hotel

Loved the property, especially swimming in the cave river and the bird aviary. A lot of walking! Even though we rested quite a bit it was still a long, tiring day waiting for the 7:00 show to begin and then finally getting back to our resort an hour away. Overall a nice day! Would definitely not recommend a full day with show if you have an infant or children under 5 or 6.

We did Xcaret on my husband’s birthday and it was great! I completely understand why all the reviews I read said that you can’t do everything in one day. Because you really can’t. However. The things we wanted to do, we were able to. The underground River swim was AMAZING. There are plenty of photo places so you don’t need to have your phone with you. Plenty of people opted to bring their phone and purchase a water proof case but I didn’t want to chance it so we both left our phones in the lockers. I also understand why people say it’s easy to spend a ton of money here. Because if you want to do a lot of extra activities then yes… you’ll spend a lot of money. Don’t worry about being pressured to buy all the activities at the beginning though. Most activities have a spot where you can purchase it there as well. My biggest tips…. Buy the photo package, bring your own water shoes (or else you’ll have to purchase one there… well… you don’t have to but walking around and getting into the water is so much easier with them), bring your own towel, and stay for the night show! It is amazing! We bought the dinner package as well for the experience. It’s 7 plates and some people said it’s not worth the cost, but honestly it added to the experience.

Xcaret park is magnificent. Once again the Tour Agency asked us to drive out to the Wyndham Gardens for pick which is 45 minutes from our hotel City Plus Cancun Aeropuerto Riviera which is a major inconvenience. We drove directly to the park again like we did the previous night to XOXOMILCO. The tour agency both nights ignored that we picked City Express Cancun Riviera from Viator's drop down menu that's next door and sent us to the opposite side of town so we drove to both parks instead with our rental car. My advice is book the tours to these two parks yourself otherwise you are at the mercy of the tour agency for pick and you would end up paying more for taxi's back and forth Rent a car if possible. Taxis are extremely expensive in Cancun.
