The start location on google maps is at 7 Signal Hill Road, Signal Hill. As you turn onto Signal Hill Road, the parking area is about 500m up the road. There is a white mobile coffee caravan opposite the trail head (most times in the afternoon).

Our hike up lion’s head was amazing. I did the sunrise. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The views were amazing and our guide, Tauriq, was fantastic. He took the time to make sure that everyone in our group made up and down safely. He also gave us the history of Cap Town. Highly recommend this hike. Please note that the hike has a few areas that can be strenuous. You need to pull yourself up using chains and ladders. Tauriq was great in helping everyone but be mindful of this. Other than that an incredible experience to see magnificent views.

As a group of 8 friends we booked the sunrise hike. Tauriq was very informative and a great guide overall. The views are amazing and the hike is an adventure! 10/10 recommend. Know going in that there are some more challenging sections of the trail but Tauriq was very patient and kind.

It was a challenging hike, but the pace was slow enough that it was very manageable. Add a little excitement doing chains and ladders over one stretch of it. But the views were just stunning.

This hike was difficult for me. I am a little over weight and have a previous injury. Our guide was fantastic and kind and coached me along and didn't make me feel like a budren. Most spectacular views!!!

Perfect - totally worth the early wake up

This excursion was well worth the wake up at 3:45 am. Tauriq picked us up as promised and we had a really nice walk up the hill. He was patient and helpful and we learnt a lot about South Africa and Cape Town on the way. At the top we were served delicious cookies baked by Tauriq's wife. We warmly recommend this tour and Tauriq as a guide. This was a perfect start for our holidays! Thank you!

Pretty much the best hike I’ve ever done. Tauriq was an incredible guide and I’m so glad we had him and our group for this journey. The staples/chains route was challenging with my fear of heights and Tauriq was patient and helpful the entire way. What a rewarding view at the end. Would definitely recommend this adventure!

Great views of Cape Town

Tauriq paced our climb well - we never felt rushed. He helped a few people in our party get through some technical areas of the climb that they did not think they could do. The weather conspired to hide the sunset from us, but it was a refreshing, enjoyable hike all the same.

Amazing views at sunrise!

My wife and I did the Lion’s Head sunrise hike on our honeymoon in Cape Town. A perfect hike to schedule on our first day because of the time change! The hike itself is pretty easy for the first 2/3 then a bit more challenging near the top (some rock scrambling and fairly steep). The views from the summit are very much worth the hike, though! The sunrise hike starts early (around 4:30 AM) and headlamps were provided. Our guide was Tariq who was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He made the hike a lot of fun. This is a must-do if you are a hiker visiting Cape Town.

Fun scramble of a hike and a beautiful sunset

Tauriq lead us on a sunset hike. He set a nice pace with plenty of stops for water and rest. I appreciated getting the broader information he offered about Cape Town in general and some of the impacts of apartheid. The scramble to the summit was so much fun and his spot to watch the sunset took us away from the crowds. It was a wonderful experience.

Amazing Experience with Views!

It’s an early morning… but oh so worth it! Terak was amazing! Beautiful views all the way from start to finish… I’m sore today. The hike does have ladders to climb which I could only do one as it was to high/scary for me… my adult kids did it and loved it!

I spent 8 days in capetown. Experienced a lot of activities . But this one was the worst ever !!! No organization at all. The guide wasn’t helpful ( Tauriq). I don’t recommend.

Remarkable views

I was a bit nervous planing to hike up at 4am in order to see the sunrise. But with the help of our guide, he made it very pleasant and came prepared. Along the way we stopped a couple of times and gave us a brief history lesson on Cape Town while we caught our breath. At the top he was also able to get the shots we wanted. Defiantly a must do while you’re in Cape Town

We did the sunset hike with Tariq in CPT and it was an absolutely amazing experience. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and it really reflects in how he handled the entire experience! He talks about the history of South Africa and his and his family's experiences which is very informative. As an added bonus he also takes awesome pics :) Def. recommend this experience!

We absolutely LOVED our hike up Lions Head and couldn’t have done it without our awesome guide Tariq. He was so knowledgeable and told us all about the history of Cape Town whilst climbing up. He knew all the best spots to take us and even gave us apples and cookies 😂 next time we’re in Cape Town we’re booking another hike with tariq for sure.
