Steven was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and informative about South African history and different areas and regions. He asked what type of wine we enjoyed and tailored our tour accordingly. He even made a reservation at an amazing restaurant for lunch. The best guide of our trip! Highly recommend him😊👍

This is a really great way to see some premier cape town vineyard's. Our guide Fanny was remarkable and if we come back we would nsist on having her take us wherever we went The real benefit of a tour where you get to choose your wine selection makes t much more enjoyable and the prices are very reasonable Fanny was able to get us a tasting of wines not on the regular wine selection and allowed us to compare the same wine but different vintages. It was a most memorable experience.

No Whinning on this Wine Tour

We went on the Private Full-Day Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl Wine Tour from Cape Town with Steven in October. The tour was a perfect mix of old wineries, a peaceful drive through the countryside, and history. We also stopped at the Nelson Mandela statue near Drakenstein Correctional Centre and ate at La Petite Ferme in Franschhoek. We strongly recommend this tour with Steven if you have the time. He was attentive to our needs and interests and balanced in his desire to make us feel comfortable and at ease with South Africa.

We decided to do a private wine tasting tour, which turned out to be one of the best things we have EVER done whilst on holiday. Our guide Tanya picked us up in a Mercedes (!), which gave it all an extra exclusive touch, however, we are not car snobs, so a less posh vehicle would've been abosolutely sufficient! Then we went on to two different wine tastings, one in Stellenbosch and one in Franschhoek, with four different wines each, before having an excellent lunch at Franschhoek Country House and Monneaux Restaurant and then trucking on to the third tasting in Paarl. Tanya was so knowledgeable and had a lot of background information to share! If it hadn't been for COVID, we wouldn't have booked a private tour, but it was the best thing we did! Highly recommended!

Fun, tasty and educational experience

A fun tour to three wine regions and wineries. Our guide knew the best places to go. At the first winery we paired delicious wines and chocolate. At the second we sampled a wide array of wines and also tired the beautiful university town. We had an excellent lunch overlooking the valley. Finally we visited a third winery for more tastings. They allowed us to sample additional wines per our taste. A fun, tasty and educational experience.

Our day in the wine region with our guide Fanny was wonderful. Fanny was the best guide possible. She shared lots of wonderful information about the region, the history of South Africa, etc. It was a delight. She even modified the tour for us a little when we really wanted to do an olive oil tasting at one of the wineries. It was a great day and one I would highly recommend. The only sad part was how expensive it is to ship wine back to the US. Enjoy it while you are there because the wines were amazing.

Last Wednesday my wife and I had the distinct pleasure of taking the private Wine Land tour with Steven Andrews. It is simply the best tour that we can remember ever having in the past 20 years that we have been traveling/sightseeing. Steven was extremely knowledgeable and informative. It was thoroughly enjoyable talking with him, learning from him about the wines and wineries, the culture and the history of this country, and getting an understanding of South Africas current status and how she arrived here. It was a completely enjoyable and pleasant way to spend the day. We know of no higher recommendation to give him. We have friends visiting Cape Town next year we will heartily recommend this tour to them. No one will have any regret on taking this tour except for its ending.

We had booked this ahead and didnt really know what to expect, as this was the first private wine tour we had taken. We had wanted something more personal than the typical group tour and booked this particular trip because it covered some of the key wine making regions we wanted to find out more about. Our guide, Leonard, arrived punctually at 9.30 and immediately made us feel welcome, settling us into the car and outlining what we were going to be doing that day. Leonard was the perfect choice for us and we feel very privileged and lucky to have had him as our guide. He took the time to listen to what we liked and didnt like when it came to wine and gauged perfectly the choice of vineyards and their price points to suit our tastes and budget. His obvious skill and expertise allowed him to tailor the day for us to get the most out of it as we got to know each other on our way to the first vineyard. His choice of lunch venue Le Petite Ferme was inspired, we had the best lunch of our holiday that day. In fact, Id go as far as to say it was this skill and knowledge that ensured we had one of the most memorable and rewarding days of the entire trip. Take the time to stop off in Stellenbosch for a little while too, it is beautiful and well worth the stopover. If you are considering this trip, I would highly recommend it. It opened our eyes to the beauty of the region and the joys of SA wines, some of which we we would not have discovered otherwise.

We had a really enjoyable Winelands tour with Leonard our guide. We visited four wineries, each located in beautiful scenic locations, and had a very enjoyable time doing the wine tastings there. Thanks to Leonard's extensive knowledge about wine, and interesting information about South Africa, we both felt that we learnt a great deal as well as having a great time. We had lunch at a beautiful restaurant called La Petite Ferme. Leonard was an excellent guide and driver, we also appreciated his courtesy and punctuality, and so we have no reservations in recommending this tour with Leonard.

We arranged this trip in order to not only sample some of the local wines for the first time, but to also get out of the city and see some of the countryside. The day long excursion was a resounding success on both counts. Our guide Shireen Endley picked us up promptly at our hotel in an upscale car and drove us to three wineries: Fairview in the Paarl area where local cheeses were paired with the wines, and Vrede en Lust in the Franschhoek area where the wines were paired with a various chocolates. We also enjoyed a delightful lunch at this second vineyard, where Shireen had worked in the past. She was the perfect guide in that she provided a rich commentary of not only the background of the wine regions, but also of the past social structure and impact of the past apartheid society and the changes that have occurred since. She introduced us to the locals at the wineries, but then allowed us to interact with these folks free of constant oversight. We also visited a Saturday market in Franschhoek, strolled through the magnificent setting of the Delaire Graff Estate, and made a final stop at another winery, which was unfortunately not available due to a private event that was being held. Nevertheless our intrepid guide furnished us with sacks of dried game meat which were to be paired with the wines. Again, it was fabulous day, thanks to Shireen -- spectacular scenery, great wines, pleasant conversation. Highly recommend this trip -- one of the best we have ever taken.
