The aviary was a really unique experience and the beach was great! A nice day trip from Cartagena, we really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend if you only want a few hours at the beach as opposed to a whole day.

Long story short, it started out with a little miscommunication about pickup because I didn't have whatapp, so we had to arrange our own transportation. Upon arrival at the aviary, the tour guide met us and we got our tickets. Buy the bug lotion! It's a self guided tour so you just walk around on your own and look at the birds. They were absolutely beautiful and we loved it. Buy the bug lotion! Afterwards our driver took us to the next location Playa Blanca beach for lunch. The water is beautiful, but it's too rocky and too crowed for my liking. The food was good, but it took a long time to come out.

Not worth the money, would do just aviary for less with a better guide. We arrive first at the beach but those of us going to the aviary didn’t want to wet our clothes so those not going to aviary from other tours who came on our bus enjoyed the beach fully. The aviary is a small one you kinda walk in a circle and see a 15 min bird show then head back to the beach for lunch around 12:30. You have from after your lunch till 2 to enjoy the beach which was very rocky though the water was clear and nice but dont be deceived by the sand the ocean floor was not sandy it just dips after a couple of steps in. Guide was not good barely spoke English though tour says in English, i had to keep asking about the details and while I understand some of it another customer had to explain why we were stopping where we were. His translation was also wrong about when we were returning etc. No explaining or guiding was done at the aviary we had to read our own signs for each bird. People at the beach club were nice but it wasnt truly a beach club more so just beds with a bar

The aviary is an excellent addition to a late morning at the beach. Would definitely recommend the 6am pick up, the aviary was empty and it was great to see the birds in a quieter environment. The beach is beautiful, food was decent. Overall, a great day trip to unwind.

We loved our trip to the aviary! The space is really incredible, with birds we have never seen before. The beach portion of the trip was also a good getaway, but a few things to note: 1. The road to the beach is fairly bumpy, so if you get carsick, prepare accordingly. 2. This is a public beach, so you will likely be approached by vendors. 3. The staff at Mambo Beach Club was friendly and kind, and the lunch was great!
