Delicious Local Street Food

Very cool tour that takes you away from the touristy areas and takes you where the locals eat. We had patacones, lulo fruit juice, shrimp cocktail, mango, beer, and arepas. By the end of the tour we were so full. Our guide Nicanor did a good job.

Gustavo was kind enough to wait outside our Airbnb to start the tour. He was very social and engaging throughout the tour. He speaks very well English. We tried out the best empanadas Cartagena has to offer. Come with an empty stomach and leave with a very happy one. Gus fed us multiple street food, juices, fruits, etc. Book and ask for Gus to be your guide.

We were excited to take a food tour to experience tastes and treats. Our guide seemed to wing it choosing some starve stops including a dirty bodega to stop for beer. We declined that stop. He mentioned tasting fruits and Columbian ice cream but that never happened. He was sweet but did not seem well trained

Our tour guide Nico was amazing!! He brought us to places where we could connect with locals and we enjoyed the food. He was very engaging and passionate about Colombia. He did everything possible to make us comfortable including holding our belongings while we ate. He also offered to take our pictures. This tour was the highlight of our trip!

By coincidence we had booked a bike tour via viator earlier in the day and had Jaime, the same guide for our street food tour. You’re in for a treat if you manage to get Jaime. He’s really interested in knowing what you want to learn and try. He tailored the tour especially to our requests. Lots of fun and foods we hadn’t tried before. Excellent English. Can’t recommend highly enough. 10 out of 10.

Not worth the money

Well for 100 USD I expected a bit more especially that street food is super cheap (let's be honest here - 1 empanada is less than a dollar). We tried 7 different things ( each of them approx 1 usd, let s make it max 2 usd so means that food costed only 14usd out of 100 usd paid for the tour - make your own math) On top of that there was not much explanation behind how it s processed, cooking technics etc... if it was half price it would be ok but it is defnitely overpriced for what you get! Cannot recommend it!

Our family of six loved the Street Food Tour! We had kids ages 9 to 18 with us and all of them had a great time. Jaime, our guide, was fantastic. He gave us a lot of information and history on Cartagena in addition to taking us to some great food spots. I highly recommend it when in Cartagena!!

This tour was an amazing mix of history and food. Jaime was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and has a great personality. The food was great. I think my favorites if I had to choose was the ceviche. Soooo good! I really enjoyed learning the history of the spots we walked around. That made this tour extra special. Jaime also personalized the tour. So if there is a spot in particular you want to visit or if you want to try a specific food but don’t know where to get it he’s your guy!

Jamie saved the day by rescuing us since our original guide never showed. Food choices were excellent with a great variety. Jamie was very informed and was able to give us a background of the culture. We also enjoyed being able to view the outside of the old city walls as well as inside. As a matter of fact, we were so full we had to skip some of the samples. Good value for you dollar.

We had a phenomenal experience with our guide Eusebio!! There is nothing like traveling through a city with a local and experiencing neighborhoods through their eyes. We saw sections of Cartagena that we otherwise may have missed and learned a lot about the local history and culture along with eating great food. He said at the beginning of the tour that the tour didn't end until we were full and stayed true to his word! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Cartagena.
