Stories about the slaves...

Stories about the slaves and their participation in the First Baptist Church. The slave door was sealed after slavery became illegal and a plaque was placed there to honor the slaves.

Well worth the price

The tour was very informative and our guide was quite knowledgeable. The 95 degree temperatures made for an uncomfortable two hours, but our guide found shade for us as often as she could. I learned many things about Charleston’s history that I was previously unaware of.

Our tour guide had many interesting stories about the places on the tour. I especially liked the information about Robert Smalls and the information about the houses in the historic district. We covered a lot of ground, but it did not feel like a two hour walk.
