Not worth the time.

A ride through the city with very few actual place related to the crime/mobster era. Have a problem that the Dillinger stop was a mural of him with add for the tour in the corner This could have been done as well, if not better, in an auditorium with maps and video or photos. The guide was knowledgeable but spoke very quickly.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you found the guide knowledgeable.

Great trip back into history!

I had some extra time in the city and took the tour and it was so cool to see where Dillinger was killed and where some of the Chicago monsters hung out. The best part for me was the visit to Harry Carry’s steakhouse basement, where we got off the bus, and got to see a hidden room and bank safe that was used by mobsfers in the 1920’s-30’s. Overall, I really just enjoyed being on the bus and being able to drive around and see so many cool buildings and parts of the city in such a short amount of time.

It was ok
Victoria_K
, Jul. 2022
We booked this last minute because our other plans were cancelled due to the rain. The bus was clean and comfortable. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The tour itself was a little bit meh for me. I’m interested in crime and have seen many documentaries and movies related to most of the characters discussed on the tour. Fir someone like me that is interested in this sort of thing, you may find the tour a bit boring. For someone without a background of knowledge in this sort of thing it would be more interesting. There are a few stops for photo ops and a stop at Harry Cary’s restaurant which houses a small museum. Very cool place that I was happy to see. All in all, not a bad tour. Just personally would have wanted more lessor known information.

I appreciated the tour guide’s enthusiasm and knowledge. It was good to hear about some of the lesser known mob bosses. About the only negative is that the bus seating is pretty cramped.

Not quite what we expected
Brigitte_P
, Jul. 2022
This tour is mostly storytelling while driving thru Chicago. Three times we got off the bus for specific locations, two of which were interesting, the site of John Dillinger’s demise at the hands of law enforcement, and at Harry Carey’s, where a secret tunnel was discovered under Chicago. The tour guide was interesting, however you can just as easily visit Harry Carey’s and see the tunnel “exhibit” at lunch or dinner. And the Dillinger site is a movie theatre and and alley and a great story you can find online. It was a nice drive around, thru Lincoln Park, which is very pretty. But for the price, it was not what we expected.

John was an awesome guide, we felt like he has a vast knowledge about the mob activities that took place in Chicago, more time is needed for tour with the stops

Very informative and fun...
Lisa_S

Very informative and fun way to learn about the past! Sitting near rear of the bus, with the loud A/C fan sometimes made it a bit difficult to hear our Guide. No time for bathroom break, make sure you go before boarding! (Our Guide and Driver did accommodate a few people who needed a break.)

Jay was very animated and informative. Would’ve liked to see the actual places where the monsters were, not just “this was the place”. All in all was a nice tour
