Your tour will depart one hour after your cruise docks, starting from the conveniently located Plaza Las Fuentes, just outside the Port. Please consider the total time to walk from your cruise to the excursion office is about 15 minutes.

Your tour will depart one hour after your cruise arrives to port from Plaza Las Fuentes, just a few steps away from Costa Maya Port. Once your reservation is confirmed, we will send you detailed and easy to follow directions to the meeting point and a map. Please consider the total time to walk from your cruise to the excursion office is about 15 minutes. IMPORTANT Travelers coming by cruise ship must provide the ship's full name.

Miguel our driver was very informative. We did not have a personal tour guide, Eliza who was sent to go with another group, just Miguel who drove us to the resort and handed us over to the manager and kayak guide. Food was good and plenty, had too much pina colada ( not a very wise choice, LOL). Place was beautiful and very exclusive. We were the second group that arrived and enjoyed the quiet until after lunch when the other tour group arrived. Only downside was the bathroom was too far away from the activity. Great excursion.

Not the best

Email stated that departure was 1hr after ships arrival however we had to wait on several who were late. Driver and tour guide were both very friendly. Once we arrived at location, it was beautiful. We picked our seats under a shelter and waited on the kayaking to begin. When the kayaking started we were the last 4 people to get equipment and when it came to the last 2 of us, there was no more good equipment to use. So I was placed on a paddle board and my husband was put in a small kayak that takes on water. Before we could even go 100 yards, his kayak was sinking and not easy to paddle. We were left behind from the group who was already along their way. We decided to turn around and wait for them to come back. We were not offered to go back out or a refund. Once they arrived back MANY other people had arrived to the location and it was packed. Was a huge let down of an experience.

Secret escape!! 😍

This was such a great last excursion for us on our Sky Princess cruise! We had a fabulous week exploring each of our ports but for us this was the very best and highlight of our entire week! Our guide Selena was fantastic. We had our lagoon resort destination to ourselves in the morning. We truly felt like we had our private and secret escape. Plenty of margaritas, hibiscus tea, and no end to the tacos. My favorite was the variety of salsas (pineapple too, yum!) offered! Everything was made fresh on site!! Selena escorted us on a kayak cruise on the lagoon with a dip in the beautiful water and we also slipped into the "quicksand" to enjoy the exfoliating benefits. Selena was very warm and knowledgeable as she shared the history and culture of the area and the Mayans. Highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Costa Maya and especially Selena as your tour guide!

The overall experience is a waste. The kayak instructor kept on going at a fast pace, and did not wait for (we are not experts in kayaking) and left us in the middle of the lake. We had to return back ourselves.

Melissa was a wonderful guide. She informed us of the town, and the lagoon. She even shared her personal experiences. Miguel was an excellent driver . We had a small group, but that made it more intimate. The tacos were delish!

Relaxing afternoon

As everyone says, Elliott was so informative, taught us new things, and made the hour trip to the lagoon speed by. Unfortunately for us, it was too windy to kayak, but it was our choice not to, Elliott was still willing. So we just enjoyed sitting under the hut overlooking the water. It is a beautiful spot and we had the entire resort to ourselves. Food and drinks were good, so it was basically just a very relaxing afternoon for us after the hustle and bustle on the cruise ship.

Great Kayak Adventure

Much better than even expected! The best part was our guide, Elliot, who was a walking wikipedia! He was so interesting and informative about his culture and Mayan history along with being a very fun guide! The kayak trip was beautiful and the taco & fajita lunch was delicious! Highly recommend!

The highlight of my cruise!

This excursion was the highlight of my cruise! Yes, the scenery was beautiful. Yes, the kayaking was fun (even for this beginner who does not exercise much... but will totally be kayaking again now). As small group we got to go into the mangroves and lily pads! Yes, the food was delicious! My favorite was the Al pastor taco and pineapple (made from a local honey pineapple) salsa. I also enjoyed a rum-chata. Horchata with rum. But... the true star of the show was our guide, Elliott!! He was so knowledgeable about the area and Mayan culture. On the hour drive to the lagoon we learned so much about the history of the Mayans. It was fascinating. He was also so patient with out kayak group. Though small we had a varied group when it came to age and skill level. I would very much recommend this excursion and travel company. I was nervous as this was my first time not using a cruise ship sponsored excursion, but they were very time conscious and got us back with still a little time to shop. If you do go, please look at their instructions of where to meet carefully. They are really detailed, but get you straight to the tour company outside of the port.

It's definitely worth it!

The bus ride was enjoyable, the tour guide was fantastic; they found a way to make the bus ride informative, educational, and interactive. We arrived at the Lagoon and the tour really began. The facilities and equipment were great. We spent a couple of hours kayaking in great equipment and then were served lunch that was delicious. We had some time after lunch to lay around and enjoy the beautiful views. We returned to the port in time to shop if that was our desire. Great Tour. Elloitt and Abel pampered us the entire time. This is our second time doing this excursion; you can rest assured that we'll do it a third time.

Eliot is a GREAT guide! Personable, knowledgeable, very accommodating. Taught us a lot! Highly recommend this tour. We kayaked for about 2.5 hours after a great luncheon!

Best excursion! Organized! Clean and comfortable transportation to resort. Elliott and Tacho were amazing. So informative. The carne pastor and chicken fajitas were yummy! Highly recommend!
