One thing that makes La chilangaloense Beach different from all other beach clubs in Costa Maya is that we include the transportation to come to our beach club. Our guests do not have to find a specific driver, or special bus then worry they got on the wrong one. Transportation was something we always found challenging while on cruises and sometimes challenging can mean stressful. Why stress? Getting Here Instructions Guide: The port of Costa Maya is privately owned, local companies do not have access to the port or the commercial areas around the terminal. All guests using any local service must exit the port area to find their service providers. After you disembark, you have to walk to the exit of the Cruise Port, the easiest way is by the dolphin area, pass the parking lot and you will find many cabs. Continue to the second yellow security booth. Just at the exit of the port, you will see a replica of a Mayan pyramid, keep walking to your left and a few steps away we will be waiting for you at Catrina Restaurant, here you will take our cabs; Catrina Restaurant is only one block from the port, If you have any questions do not hesitate to call us or send us a whatsapp +52 983 186 7798.

We absolutely loved this experience with our family and friends. The food was delicious especially the fish tacos! Drinks were great too, especially the Hibiscus margarita! The staff was so friendly and attentive. The beach had a net to catch the red seaweed so we had beautiful blue water. The beach massages were cheap but the best massages we’ve ever gotten. Out of 4 excursions we did on our cruise this week, this was hands down our favorite! I would highly recommend this to anyone who comes here

Wasn’t at all what the photos showed. Chairs sat on a small area that looked more like a creek bank rather than ocean. Approximately 50 yards to swim then was this chicken wire fence with trash all on it. Drinks were watered down food was unexpectedly good and the folks working there was super nice. Every two mins though was someone walking by trying to sell you something very aggravating. Nice folks but not at all what I was expecting. Not my first trip to costa maya but my first to a beach there. Although it wasn’t exactly what I expected when the sun popped out the beautiful blue water was breath taking and the super nice folks and their hospitality made it a great day all and all.

The food was good and it was relaxing, and the staff was attentive, but the place was a little run down. It was really bothersome and annoying with people walking up to you every 5 minutes trying to sell you something. Some being very pushy.

This was not an ideal place to go. The seating area was awful not comfortable at all very run down looking and old. The drinks were unlimited for 2hrs but tasted watered down and to have very little alcohol in them. However the staff was nice and the food was good.

Staff were terrific. Food was limited but was very good and all you can eat. Drinks were unlimited and although the beer was unknown it was very good and all the fruity drinks were good as well, and unlimited. The lounge chairs were old and worn as were the plastic chairs. This was not a high end beach club. We had a great day here, relaxed, ate and drank, met some really nice people and would go back. Great price as well. Sure beats a fancy place where nobody cares about the guests, but looks great in a brochure. Great bang for the buck!!

My wife and I came here for the day. The cruise terminal is a bit confusing so ask for directions to the exit. The taxi ride there was quick. The food was spectacular and the drinks kept coming. My only complaint, is you are constantly asked to buy stuff by people walking up and down the beach while you are relaxing.

The only positive here was that the staff was fantastic and the food was good. I think the issue is is more Costa Maya in general. It took us forever to get out of the maze that is the cruise port, and then we had to walk quite a bit to get to the meeting point. We were running late because of that and I tried to both call and WhatsApp the tour operator, but no one responded. When we finally got to the beach, it was an area of restaurants on a terrible beach. The kids couldn’t play in the sand because it was rock hard, and the beach was roped off so you could only be in an area that was 3’ deep at most. There were locals trying to sell their wares every two seconds, so you couldn’t even just relax and read a book. We stayed for 20 minutes and then went back to the ship. So disappointing.

We have been to many beautiful beaches and resorts. This one is small but welcoming. The staff, food and drink was excellent. They brought us everything we wanted and the meal was great tasting. They had a small area with chairs and beds with cushions. The beach was nice to walk into the water but not a large sandy area around. It was mostly shady around the sitting areas. They have a water break and a fence around it for safety which took away from the appearance . Understanding that it is a developing area, We would do the same thing again. The port entry was nice and everyone we encountered was kind.

The only reason this gets two stars is the amazing servers. They waited on us diligently and provided outstanding service. But, the place was a dump. The venue fell short in every respect. There were a bunch of moldy beach chairs, ripped sheets around the “canopy” bed, and one canopy was leaning and looked like it was getting ready to fall over. The swimming area was nowhere near a clean beach and was roped off. We could only see the waves in the distance. This place may be recommended for someone looking for an open bar and nothing else. Wi-Fi only available near the restaurant, which was not near the beach area. Bathrooms were a joke—no toilet seat. Again, the waitresses were amazing and not worthy of this place.

The shop/dining area smells like pee from the cats walking around (not exaggerating). It's NOT all you can eat, it's a select menu in which everything tasted awful. Not quite sure if the drinks actually had alcohol in them. Only good thing is we had our own chair.

There was no buffet, you were allowed one lunch item. The “snacks” was chips and a tomato sauce. I was excited to snorkel- there was no where to snorkel or anything to see. The drinks didn’t taste like there was any alcohol in them. The place is run down and not somewhere I would ever go again. The locals are relentless, and ask you 100 times if you want to buy something or get a message. The staff were attentive and friendly.

It is advertised as a "lunch buffet" but is not a buffet. The food is very good though but only one item per person is included. I picked this excursion because we were looking for somewhere to snorkel. This beach is not at all a place for that. They give you the equipment but the beach area is small and roped off and there is nothing to see in the water. In the pictures it looks really nice but in reality it is extremely run down. Also it is hard to enjoy yourself with the overwhelming amount of people approaching you to sell you cigars and other souvenirs. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because of the amazing staff and the quality of the food we did get. The drinks weren't bad but very weak. I was disappointed to say the least .

Unfortunately, our snorkeling was canceled, but no one informed us prior to the excursion. The pictures were so much nicer than the resort! Plus, there was not enough seating for our group. Very disappointed with the whole thing! Oh! And we had to walk over a mile to get to the place, where the taxis were waiting!

This is trash and Viator should be ashamed for listing this venue. If I could leave zero stars I would. I had to walk forever to get to my destination so if you are traveling with elderly or children this definitely isn’t for you. The beach is a joke, the have a small portion of the beach roped off the chairs are hand built terrible I may add. The food isn’t good and the drinks are nasty. Then you have to pay your way back to the ship. Never again!!!

Read the entire review... Finding catrina was easy and it's a nice little place with very friendly people and a couple of cute dogs. The cab ride was no problem, pre-arranged and no charge. Chilangaloense n the beach did not meet our expectations. Only one snorkel mask, one kayak so the kids were bored with nothing to do. The beach was a mess, garbage that had clearly been there for a while, stinky seaweed caight in the nets. The seating is pre-assigned and extremely crowded. Good news is its shaded but the bad news is there really isnt a beach in the sun simply because there is no room, youre on the water. They bring you drinks but the bar is across a small walking street. Bathrooms were not clean and had no toilet paper. The worst part was the constant flow of locals trying to sell us things. It was extremely annoying and not relaxing at all. our children were offered a shot of booze and adults were offered drugs. We will never be back and do not recommend.

The staff was so accommodating and kind! It was so nice to be away from the crowds at the entrance of Costa Maya. The lounge chairs were extremely comfortable. Bery authentic Mexican vibes. Beautiful place to be!
