Nice to be able to visit...

Nice to be able to visit all the many places in Costa Maya without having to walk or hail a cab. Made our own schedule. Plenty of places to park the bikes and they did come with a lock and a helmet if you want one. Only complaint was the grease on the seat stem. I kept getting it on my hands and the cuffs of my shorts when I was riding. Looks like I will be able to get it out of the clothes, but they were brand new shorts, so it was not a pleasant discovery.Otherwise, great service.

This was so much fun!!! Raul was very nice when we arrived to pick up our eBikes. It was a small walk to get outside the port area then straight ahead on your left at the roundabout. The ebikes are in good shape but do not expect anything brand new. I read a lot of reviews before deciding on these and people appeared to have high expectations that are unreasonable, haha. They are so sturdy and get you where you need to go. The ebikes even have a map on the back of the basket! We are so happy we rented these instead of getting a taxi or golf cart. We will definitely be returning on our next trip.

Our group had reserved a total of 9 electric bikes through Viator. When we arrived there were 5 bikes sitting in front of the location. They had to borrow the other bikes from a neighboring electric bike vendor. The bikes that they rent are not the caliber of what you would rent in the US. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. It was nice being able to go and experience costa Maya without renting a taxi or shuttle but when my battery died about 5 miles from port, my husband had to push most of the way back.

We had a blast! Bikes are a little older, but they still worked and that didn’t bother us a bit. It felt like the walk was a little longer than 2 blocks. Again, not complaining just a heads up for when you book. We rode all over and had the BEST day! Highly recommend.

Bike was there waiting with my name on it. No host around. No map of area or bottle of water as advertised. Bike worked good but probably would not use again due to poor condition of streets....lots of potholes that were hard to avoid.

Raul had our bikes, waiting and ready for us as soon as we got off the ship. He gave us a quick tutorial on how to use the electric bikes. They were very easy to use (4-60 year olds). All worked wonderful we were able to explore on our own in Costa, Maya (Mahahual Mexico). There were even maps on the back of each bike to navigate to the causeway, where all the beach resorts were. It is a two block walk after you get out of the port so you will do some walking to get to the fake Mayan ruined to pick up your bikes. But it’s an easy walk no hills. Coming in and out of the port, we only had to show our sail and sign card, but we had our passports just in case. There is a basket on the back of each bike plus a helmet. I was able to take my backpack off and put it in the basket or you can wear your backpack while biking. Cable and lock are provided for the bikes to be secured if you had to park them and leave them. But if you were going to one of the beach resorts, they would’ve been safe. We went to the Tropicante’ Beach resort, almost all the way to the far end of the beach causeway, and they parked our bikes for us, and they kept an eye on our bikes. It was a wonderful different experience, and not having to contend with all the crowds waiting in line. We would book this again for our next trip to the port of call in Costa Maya.

Fun day exploring the Mahahual malecon by bike! Great way to escape the touristy scene at the port of Costa Maya. Raul was helpful explaining how the ebikes worked, and I appreciated that the bikes came with helmets and a basket for personal items. Couple tips if you're booking this experience: Bring a hat, sunscreen & water bottle (it gets hot here and there's an un-shaded stretch on the way to the malecon). Also, it's a bit of a labyrinth to get out of the port area. Keep walking past the first taxi area you encounter, go through the security gate, and then the meeting point by the faux Mayan pyramid is about a block past that. If you can't find Coral Go right away, look for the signs for Maya Chan pickup (it's right by where the Coral Go bikes are).

Bikes need maintenance

We walked off the ship and found the bike shop after about 20 minutes. It is located outside the port crossing the parking lot where the taxis and buses congregate. When we arrived they easily gave us the bikes upon showing our reservation. The E bikes were not pedal assist like we are used to, but more like a scooter that uses the battery without pedaling. We had no problem for the first half of our trip, but returning to the shop the bikes were running rough. When we got to the shop, no one was there to check us in, so we just left them. Seemed to work. 3 star is okay, but wouldn't do it again.

The bikes were older and somewhat worn out, with a few minor problems. There was no one there when we returned the bikes so we just chained them to a bench and through the keys over a wall into what looked like an office.

Booked before leaving on our cruise and received a message cancelling the day before our excursion. Allowed me to book again on the site and cancelled again. Shouldn’t be able to book if not able to fulfill.

Bad communication and no refund

We pre-purchased this experience and when we showed up to pick up our bikes they informed us that due to the morning rain and their bad roads, it was too much of a liability to let us use them. He then shared they would give us a refund. Two weeks went by and no refund. I reached back out and the apologized and they said they would issue me a refund. It's now been a month and still no refund and they haven't responded. I understand the weather is out of their control but one, I wish that they would have sent me an email before I walked there for them to tell us they could lend it to us, and two they have agreed they will refund me but I have yet to receive an email. Just know that if you pre-purchase and it rains they may not allow you to go out and good luck with that refund.
