Fun, Knowledgeable, Punctual, and Great recommendations!

We had an awesome time with Tucan Tours! They went above and beyond our expectations and so glad we booked with them and not the regular cruise tour! We had Carlos & Reynaldo for our tour guides and they were very friendly and extremely accommodating. They were quick in response to my questions prior, easy to find at pickup location and very punctual each stop. Was a really great value! Provided water and a drink on trip. Had an awesome time at the ruins because he went in the opposite direction of all the other tours, we had little crowding of people. Learned alot! Our highlight of the trip was our detour stop for empanadas and pineapple chile. Delicious and fresh! Afterwards we enjoyed the beach and they gave us great tips on where to go for great food and drinks. Loved their recommendations! Highly recommended!!

Our tour guides name was Carlos and he was awesome and super knowledgeable! We learned so much and had a great time. I love that this was a family friendly excursion as we were with a 1 year old. Our drivers name was ed I believe and he too was very knowledgeable and kind. They both were awesome and assured we had a great time.

Chose this tour whilst on a cruise as it was much cheaper than the ships option. We met someone at the port who transported us to the office to register for our tour. We were a small group of 10 people. Carlos was our guide and he was on the bus with us for the one hour drive to the ruins. He provided us with lots of information throughout the journey and again at the ruins. He was great with our daughter and engaged her in the tour. He also offered to take group photos for us. We opted to stop at a pineapple stand on the way back and tried pineapple with chilli; this was optional. No one on our bus opted to do the beach visit, as it was tight on time but this wasn’t a problem for us. Overall this was a great tour and our guide Carlos was very informative, I would definitely recommend.

We had talked with Viator before traveling about my husband's limited mobility. Upon arriving at Costa Maya, I had to walk a mile before arriving at the tour desk by the replica of the pyramid. I explained my husband's situation, and Eliseo drove me back to the parking area behind the vendors, waited for me to get my husband (and gave me a shortcut) and brought us back to the tour desk. What incredible service! We were so grateful.

Not Worth An Entire Half-Day

Not my favorite excursion of the trip. First, the driver of our van was apparently in training, and many of us were concerned for our safety on the long drive from the cruise port to the ruins. Add to this that the driver didn't speak much English and that made it even less pleasant. Several people asked for a new driver and the individual who drove us back to the port did a much better (and faster!) job (and also spoke English). The ruins, themselves, really weren't much to see and, unfortunately, it was VERY hard to hear (and understand) our tour guide, who spoke with a heavy Spanish accent and also had to compete, volume-wise, with the many other tour groups around us, whose guides were very loud. I did not come away having learned very much at all.

The tour guide at the park was a wealth of knowledge. We enjoyed walking around the ruins. It was nice that the jungle was still around because it gave us plenty of shade. We also got to see wild Spider Monkeys in the trees.

It was a good tour. I would have liked it better if the tour guide had a microphone or something. There were close to 30 in our group so it was hard to hear while walking. He did a good job giving us some information about the ruins and the Mayan people.

A nice tour

It was a nice tour. The guide was ok and the maya ruins are very nice to see. It was all organised well. The beach at the end was crowded and expensive but you don’t have to go there nor to buy anything (but it’s a nice break). The only thing that we didn’t like is that we have to ask for water all the time, otherwise it wasn’t served (no other type of drinks was served) and we were on a very hot day (after we asked they gave us immediately but I don’t think we need to ask)
