What To Expect

Depart from a central Cozumel location and enjoy a short cruise on a stylish ferry along Cozumel’s picturesque west coast. On arriving at your dive site, board your authentic US Coast Guard Certified submarine and dive to the intriguing depths of the ocean to explore Chankanaab, an environmentally protected marine park considered one of the world’s prime diving destinations.

Cruise along the ocean bed to discover the diverse and dazzling marine life of the protected park, appreciating the rare opportunity to venture where only experienced scuba divers have gone before. View the underwater wonderland through large circular windows as your informative guide directs your attention to parrotfish, grunts and groupers.

Watch as your captain expertly navigates the submarine through enormous 30 foot (9 meter) coral heads, providing captivating commentary throughout the deep-sea voyage. Capture your underwater moments on camera before your submarine returns to the surface. Then, venture back to the original departure point on the ferry, where you tour concludes.

The whole experience was amazing. Each employee gave excellent service and a friendly atmosphere. You could tell the employees wanted it to be the very best excursion we could experience. So fun and educational

All the hosts were so helpful and really funny. We had so much fun and I didn’t want it to end. I will say if you are claustrophobic this may not be a great choice for you because you are crammed in a tiny submarine with so many other people literally sitting back to back with no space to move at all. It was a little unnerving at first, but I got used to it within the first couple minutes. All the sites were so beautiful and we saw a ton of beautiful tropical fish. The guides are good at telling you what kind of fish you are seeing and teaching you about the reef.

Good experience. Worth the money. Submarine was larger than I expected and air-conditioned too. Only complaint was that it was difficult hearing the woman speak on the boat (not the submarine) over the sound of the engine.

This is a very nicely run operation. I wasn't sure what to expect for getting into the submarine but it was easier than I anticipated. Enjoyed the views and the commentary. Pictures of various fish around the facility would be nice to be more knowledgeable about what we were about to see. The commentary provided was good but I found it hard to listen, watch, take pics and keep the kids focused all at once. I wish it would have been a bit longer if a ride.

Came from cruise. Walked out of port and turned left, walked for a few minutes(safe easy walk with kids)Just remember that the booking is in local time and not ship time. I booked at 9:30 local time and had to rush since we disemarked at 9am(8am ship time)Went with our fam of 5 . Everyone loved it. Could have been a lil longer . Overall was less then 1:30 from boat ride to submarine and back. Kids loved it.

It was all memorable. I loved seeing the shipwreck and the coral reefs but the seats were too high for the portals and my neck hurt after a while and my sons back began to hurt.

Mixed experience. There was supposed to be a height requirement, but they let a small screaming toddler aboard who we had to sit next to and kept tried to climb on me. You don’t get to pick where you sit, they call you to your seats. So we felt trapped and a bit annoyed that we got stuck with the baby on the boat and the sub. It would have been a different experience had they enforced their rules. The sub itself is cool, but the experience felt like going to an aquarium. The marine life was limited to the same 4 or 5 fish. The sunken ship was surrounded by divers. I appreciated that the guide pointed out the fish types, but overall it felt overpriced for what it was. If you can’t swim or snorkel, perhaps this is the best way to see the ocean floor, but for us we probably wouldn’t recommend it at full price.

Great voyage a hundred feet under the Caribbean! There are no guarantees you'll see sharks, etc, but the reef and schools of fish were abundant. Staff was informative and friendly. Our visit was uncrowded, plenty of space for all, minimal waits. And we found Dory! Note: if on a cruise, Schedule is Cozumel time, NOT necessarily ship time.

Super great experience! Definitely worth the money! I'm severely claustrophobic, so I was a little nervous going into it, but our 9 year old is super into shipwrecks and the deep sea so we felt it was a "can't miss". And it was AMAZING! The guide was informative and they did a nice job getting views of sights equally on both sides of the submarine!
