Great excursion

There were several shops when we got to the park, but beyond that nobody bothered us. The snorkeling was good, we walked through the historical part on our own then relaxed under a palapa the rest of the day. It was so relaxing and we would definitely go back!

The buffet was good but was a limited menu. It could be have been more chooses available. Went to wash hands no water available however, it wasn't a long wait for water to be restored. The staff was excellent, the waiter who escorted us to seats on the beach was superb! Also, staff opened buffet a little earlier for us which was much appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely book this excursion again!

Sandy beach but not into the water. Had to go down staircases into deep water. Very spread out. Snorkeling equipment very far in hot sun from snorkeling area. Botanical garden did not have a single flower. Animal pens empty. Buffet was sketchy. They serve you tacos. Wasn’t sure what the meat was.

Chankanaab Park is a nice park, the confusing part of the this package is finding the person who will give you the tickets to enter the park. After that you will have to find the snorkeling business which could be confusing since there is many. Make sure to ask which beer is free otherwise you will get charge a price for choosing anything they don't consider part of the package.

not easy water access for snorkeling

The "white sandy beach" did not have access to the water all along the beach. The snorkel equipment was great with great customer service but farthest from the entrance. At that end of the beach you had to access the water via metal stairs and the water was too deep to stand. If we had walked towards the entrance the beach access was better, but then we would have needed to walk all the way back to the snorkel hut and back again.

This was our second visit to the park. We absolutely love the ambiance, the service and being able to swim and snorkel all day! One item to note: the lunch buffett never changes. We were last there in July 2022 and the lunch buffett in March 2023 was exactly the same.
