Tequila Scam! Fraud!
Michelle_J, July 2023
Tequila is a scam! Misrepresented products, added coloring and flavors, lies about aging and authenticity. Avoid this tour! Scam!
Hands On Introduction to Mayan Culture
Sam_M, Mar 2023
We had a great time at the village learning a lot of interesting things about the history, culture, food and customs of the Mayan people. In addition to this we had a great tour guide that had an excellent sense of humor and all the people in the village did a great job demonstrating different aspects of the Maya while also putting on an amazing performance with dancing and music. The tequila tasting afterwards was also good and that’s coming from someone that isn’t really a fan of liquor. I would definitely recommend checking it out.
Great way to spend the day. An absolute blast.

Came here with a group of girlfriends and we had an absolute blast! Our tour guide at the the Mayan village was knowledgeable, full of energy, and made sure we were having a good time. We made tamales, drank corn and honey water (delicious), and made chocolate. Everything tasted incredible. The tequila tour right after was the perfect way to end. Everyone was so nice even down to our driver Gerardo, he was such a sweetheart.

I definitely learned a lot on this excursion and developed a deeper appreciation for my heritage. I also loved trying the chiclets (gum) and making the corn and chocolate masa. I would definitely recommend and love to experience again!

Very informative and unique—something different since we are in Cozumel rather frequently. Our driver, Taz Miranda, was super. The tour at the Mayan Village was most interesting with a chance to grind corn and sample sauces, honey, and chocolate. Great tequila tasting at Hacienda Antigua as well.

If you want culture of the Mayan, this is the tour to take. Very hot day nothing you can do, a village was constructed and the people were great and presented a very hands on look at the Mayan culture. We had bark from the gum tree that became chewing gum. We were shown the cocoa nut and watched as the seeds once crushed with some honey became chocolate. Then I made some chocolate myself! Herds and ingredients were shown and prepared, we were given hibiscus tea. Can't forget the crushed corn that becomes paste that becomes a tortilla that were offered to us with some bean topping. Dances, religion and sports were also part of the presentation. Pictures could be taken at any time and the Mayans would pose for any picture. A guide translated to both English and Mexican from Mayan. The best hands on and learning tour I have been on. Beats the heck out of walking around a lot of ruins. Your choice.
