I would like to give my very disappointing feedback about this tour. I booked and paid for this safari tour according to the information provided by your website. However, the actual tour was far from it. First, the pickup time was about 4:30 pm. It took the driver about 70 minutes to get to the meeting point and we had to wait for 40 minutes until the sand Four wheel driving. Then after the FWD which was about 20 minutes, it took about 30 minutes to get to the campsite for the dinner and the show. We got there just after 7 pm. Half of the food that is shown on your website was NOT on the menu. So we spend approx 90 minutes on the campsite as we were told we had to leave about 9 pm. By the time we got to the Hotel, it was 10 pm. So what I want to understand is how this works out approx 7 hours as per your website. On top of all this, we did not enjoy any food as we were interupted continuously by the staff to purchase either the photos or other items every 2 minutes. We had booked the same type of experience in the past for ¼ of what we paid and they were honestly 10 times better than this. Total driving time (excluding sand driving) was about 2.5 hours out of 5.5 hours of the tour time. In summary, this was far from a luxury tour as per your advertisement. This was a total waste of our time that we could have spent doing other activities.

Fun in the UAE Desert

This was a wonderful afternoon and evening! Thanks to Jeyer, our guide/driver, who answered all of our questions and showed is a wonderful time. The drive to the desert was almost as interesting as the tour itself (seeing the UAE countryside)! He was very caring and worked to keep us comfortable, despite the heat. And he’s a great driver in the dunes and took us to spots where we could get beautiful photos. The brief interaction with the hawk, and camel and horse rides were entertaining and we got some great family photos that we are glad we purchased. The food was good and the entertainment, in particularly the whirling, was remarkable. Don’t miss doing this! Glad we chose it as our desert experience.

Sadly our desert safari experience didn’t turn out as we hoped from the moment we were finally picked up from our hotel after various time changes we became EXTRAS rarely was a word spoken to either of us by the driver on our journey into the desert. Did we pass anything interesting? We have no idea as our driver was too involved talking to the other passengers in another language! When we finally arrived at the Desert Safari place we were taken to the so call “air conditioned” room where we sat for nearly an hour or so with no explanation as to what was happening we didn’t even get an insight to other things that were happening there just told to sit and wait till the driver came back . Then once he returned we went straight back to the car where we sat alone for quite awhile till the driver returned to the car. Then we headed off to the sand dunes momentarily then we needed to wait for other cars to join us. Yes the Safari Drive was FUN But because we had hung around for so long it did appear we were the last group and the sun was setting so it all seemed a bit rushed. Then we then we’re back in the car hastily making our way to the Royal Desert Fortress for dinner. On arrival the show had already started we were rushed to our tables and informed of our options. The food was a good spread the hosts were lovely the Dancers were exceptional sadly there were not many customers so the atmosphere was a little quiet for a celebrationary dinner! When the option of the camel ride came up after dinner we just couldn’t see the point of mounting the camel in the dark. We stayed till the end of all the performances which were entertaining then we finally headed back to our hotel still very little said to us though still lots of interaction between the driver and the other guests in another language. Did we have a good night? Yes we did some super stuff Food & entertainment all good but for the money we paid we wanted a sensational experience which didn’t happen. As for our guide although he was very polite he let himself down by allowing the other guests to take over the evening with all the conversation in another language and forgot about us.

The desert sand bashing was a blast. The food was delicious. The only thing we didn’t like was when driving in to the tent experience we saw the camels tied at their feet so they couldn’t run. They could only take a little step, not even a normal stride. Hence, we didn’t do the camel rides. Kind of ruined the experience:(

Dune bashing was fun. That was a new experience. The views were spectacular. The entertainment, food and set up were wonderful. The 3 star rating was our driver/ guide was reckless. I noticed other posts with the same complaint. He also was driving and on the phone non stop. We noticed other guides being interactive with their guests. They would help take pictures and give them ideas on pictures. Ours disappeared when we were stopped.

The evening was beautiful. Gorgeous sunset. Palette pleasing foods. Entertainment did its job. The only reason I give it a low mark is the ride, aka Landover was an uncomfortable, especially in the back. The driver was standoffish and at times was rude in his communications.

Desert Experience

One of a kind attraction. Not to be missed for an exotic Arabian experience. There are horses and camels to be ridden and over 5 top class music and dance performances to be savoured. The Crown Plaza buffet menu choices was abandunt and the quality of the food delicious.
