No Better Way to Do It

Previous experience traveling in Japan taught me that you absolutely need a private car to make efficient use of your time outside the cities. Relying on buses just eats up way too much of your day and limits the places you can reasonably see. Hiring a guide is a must. Our guide for this trip was everything I look for a more in a private tour guide. He was knowledgeable about the area, knew the best places to go and when to go them, and put forth great effort to make us welcome and comfortable. There was a LOT of personal touch and local flavor in his efforts. Our guide was into nature and showed that he cared about the natural beauty of the area/his home. He showed us places we didn't know about. At the same time, he listened to us and worked out a plan for us to see the sites we were most interested in. I would not have gotten the image I posted with this review had he not worked out a plan to try to catch Fuji at the right time on a day when the clouds were right. He provided water, boots, coats, and walking sticks as well. Overall, I can't really see how anything good have been improved. Highly recommended.

DM, There are so many unique and special places around Fujikawaguchiko most never see. The winter this year has been long but also Mt. Fuji and the lakes are at their best and the skies full of stars. I was pleased that we had such nice weather in which to explore. Please visit again in another season to experience more. Chris is Phenomal!

WOW! Our day in Mt Fuji with Chris was the best day of our trip to Japan (and we had lots of amazing experiences during our 8 days). Chris helped us buy return tickets when we got to Kawaguchiko (and then later made sure we got on the right bus back to Tokyo). He showed us so many incredible spots - the landscape is beyond stunning and so relaxing away from the crowds. 10/10 recommend - you won't regret it!

Chris is an awesome guide, extremely knowledge about the local area, friendly with the locals and has a wealth of information. He is able to alter the schedule on the fly to suit the needs of your group which is a testament to his local knowledge. Nik, The icicles we saw at Mothers White Falls and at Dragon Cave were the first this year and so beautiful as winter sets in.
