        Fun but overpriced

A mixed bag. I liked the tour guide, the overall friendly atmosphere, and the mix of food/sight-seeing. We had luck with nice strangers in our group, the weather was perfect, and the route was beautiful. The food quality was decent, but nothing exceptional. The overall quantity of food was really low (think trade fair samples), especially compared to other food tours. I know it is advertised as tasters, but you wouldn't expect to be hungry after a food tour. What also surprised me was the selection of foods. Info says that the stops are subject to change, and that certainly applied to us. Out of all examples mentioned in the text we only did the vegan chocolate, and none of the other four stops featured any signature Belgian dish. Time management became an issue in the 2nd half of the tour and we had to hurry up for the "last" two stops. I put last in quotes because we were a mixed group of vegan/omnivores, and the meat eaters got an additional two stops for the same price which imo is infuriating. The vegan part of the group was somewhat unceremoniously and hecticly ditched right then and there. Overall it was alright but we expected much more for the steep price. PS: If the agency reads this, please add some contact info somewhere so people can ask questions prior to booking.

Dear Andreas, Thank you very much for your feedback. Much appreciated! It always helps us to perform better next time and make changes where required. We are sorry to hear you felt hungry afterwards and that you compare our tasters (5) with trade show samples. That is a pity, as our partners put a lot of effort in creating something nice for our guests. All tasters together make up a full meal and the majority of the visitors we have on our tours find the portions satisfying. We regularly ask as well. Our food tours are arranged for an average appetite and therefore perhaps not suitable for people who might be used to eating large portions. You are right that there were no traditional "Belgian" dishes on the tour. The reason for this is that the majority of these dishes contain meat or animal products (Beef Stew and chips, Waterzooi, Cheese and Ham etc. ) and this was a VEGAN tour. You did however get a taste of what the vegan scene in Ghent is all about and what makes Ghent such a diverse place. Sorry that you felt left out in the end. We always leave our guests at the last stop, so they can enjoy their taster, have a rest and just chill and mention this when the tour starts, as well as prior to the last stop. The tour took longer than anticipated and your guide asked if you were ok with it and it was not a problem. You mention that the other guests received 2 extra tasters for the same price. That is actually not correct as they paid extra for their tour and were also left at their last stop. Thank you though for bringing this to our attention. It is a learning for us as well and we will definitely make some changes! As for contact details, a phone number is displayed on the product site and all communication goes via the booking platform. We always touch base prior to the tour, which we also did when you booked.
