What To Expect

Make your own way to Main Beach to meet your luxury yacht for your sunset cruise. Your captain welcomes you aboard then sets sail on the protected waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater, the perfect place to catch the vibrant colors of a tropical sunset.

Sip sparkling wine and snack on fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, and other appetizers during your cruise. Upgrade to include a delicious seafood dinner that features Australia’s freshest seafood, such as fresh lobster, shrimp, crab and other delicacies, depending on the catch of the day. Alternatively, a non-seafood option can be arranged.

Head towards South Stradbroke Island, noting the super-yachts docked at the Southport Yacht Club and Marina Mirage, and catch sight of the luxury Palazzo Versace Hotel. Continue past Sea World, Wave Break Island and the Seaway, keeping an eye out for pelicans, cormorants, terns and sea eagles. Dolphins sometimes pop up near the boat.

Your captain may share stories about your boat's racing past, as the vessel has competed in four Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races — one of the world’s most challenging yacht races.

After about two hours on the water, your boat returns to the starting point where the tour ends.

Absolutely amazing, staff were fantastic, the food was fresh and delicious. Fantastic views and sights. We were lucky enough to see Dolphins. We left in daylight and returned just on dark, so peaceful and relaxing. Definitely recommend this cruise.

We chose the cruise as a present for our sister's birthday and we all enjoyed sailing along the serene waterway, watching other boats coming and going in the late afternoon. Although the weather was a little cloudy, we were able to see the sun set and the effect of the clouds, sun, and the darkening sky was lovely. There was very little wind so the captain was only able to use the sails half way into the trip but if you choose to go on a sailing trip, you have to accept whatever the weather brings. We appreciated the friendliness of the captain and 'crew', a young lady who brought our platter and was happy to chat. The platter was just right and the bubbles were good!

Firstly, they simply were not expecting us!! After receiving original confirmation, I emailed and left two un-returned messages but total breakdown in communications. We asked for a refund but were told no need by couple operating cruise who were only expecting another couple for cruise only. The cruise was delayed whilst they sourced the food for our party of 6 expecting the seafood dinner. There were no nibbles before dinner which whilst fresh, consisted of 1 small crab, 1 Balmain bug and four king prawns pre-plated for each person. Four bread roll no butter between 6 people. The desert (which we declined) was a slice of a Woolies Brand caramel cake with a dollup of canned whipped cream. Hardly good value. There is no option to purchase beer for those non wine drinkers so we settled for the lemonade. The meal was served around a table in the cabin below deck which was perfect for 6 but no room for more. The two crew were very nice under the circumstances and could not be blamed for the mishap. Worth noting though, I have not received any contact from the owner since by way of an apology. It is also worth noting that we were not given or told where to access life jackets should the need arise which was a little concerning given we had two children with us. Would definitely choose a bigger more experienced operation next time.

Over all it was a fabulous experience, I wish it went for 3hours not 2 because I just didn't want to get off.. Amazing food and the staff where very nice. Not invasive at all but attentive and lovely. I will return with my young family for the next one. Well worth it.

We are from San Francisco where we can eat all kinds of sea food but traveling was just like being at home the way they took care of us wow it was amazing we loved it and I was with my two kids and husband and mom and also they had couples that were doing it romantically we did had the best time of our lives. I would recommend this to anyone that is going to the Gold Coast. Worth the money and time and was great.

This was a very relaxing cruise with the Captain providing both time on our own and sharing stories with him about the boat and other general experiences. A perfect host. We had the fresh sea food dinner, and if we did the cruise again, then we would include this part of he trip without question as it is perfect in freshness and size. On the cruise, which is very gentle, you get to experience a variety of views and fairly easy to see marine life including the occasional shark. Two hours is about right and leaves you feeling relaxed and wanting more.

Despite windy conditions we experienced a fabulous sunset cruise with champagne and fruit, cheese and a few prawns. Michael the skipper and owner of the business has vast sailing experience and he made the 2 hour trip seem timeless. To end it all we sailed back in with an escort of dolphins ! We highly recommend Gold Coast Sunset Cruise.
