Even though the weather was a bit rainy the driver/guide did an excellent job in taking us to the hot spots we were looking for.

Long trip. Good driver. Hard to hear. Very cold air conditioning. I would just do the sandstone pillars and the rain forest and then come straight back. Didn’t need candy store stop.

The reverse tour helps avoid the crowds. We had a great driver who looked after everyone; help take photos. Jim, our driver was personable and knowledgeable. He pointed out many things that made our tour exciting and memorable!
A lot to improve

We were a big group of 24 ppl and not 12. After I booked and paid, they texted me saying that if I was not comfortable with that, they would’ve cancelled my booking and refunded me (knowing that most people are on a short visit and would rather go on the tour anyway as you can’t easily find availability the same day), but there were also people who said that they were not even informed about that change. Also the meeting point and starting time were changed, but the tour operator did not say that. They did only after I specifically asked for a confirmation of meeting point and time. (If I did not have time to chat in that moment and assumed that the indicated on the ticket meeting point was correct, I would’ve missed the tour.) Summed to the double size of the group, it made a totally different tour. Hence rather than the option of cancellation with refund I would’ve appreciated more a partial refund tor the ordinary big group tour offered instead of the Boutique tour with max 12 ppl as sold and prepaid.
The tour includes really beautiful spots and we did all of them. When purchasing a guided tour though, I normally expect not just to see the spots, but to really learn something about the visited places, hear interesting stories about them (besides the few statistics data about size and population provided by Google). We did not have an authentic tourist guide, passionate about what they’re doing, differently from the ones we happened to cross paths with at some of the stops along the way and could hear… Our “guide” Jimmy was a very sweet and kind person (and that’s the only reason why I give this tour 3 stars instead of 1), but he was simply the bus driver who was giving only few and really superficial info and mostly staying silent. He talked much more about past tours that he did to different places and about how his previous day tour went, rather than telling us something interesting and substantial about our tour. He was also very hard to understand as his English was poor and with really strong Chinese accent. His only concern was to tick ✔️ the stops instead of providing us with an authentic unforgettable experience. We felt rushed all the time and if we had not insisted on walking 3 more minutes uphill in the park where normally coalas can be seen, we would’ve not seen even one animal, because Jimmy just stopped at the first tree next to the parking lot and didn’t want to go further with us. On the way up we met other people coming down who said there were coalas a little further uphill so we went on and soon saw one of the animals. Eventually also Jimmy reached us, but just to rush us back to the parking again, instead of being him taking us to see the coalas. Maybe he eventually felt that we were not quite happy and provided a small plastic coala souvenir to each of us as a compensation at the next 15 minute stop at Lorne Beach.
I think that for the money charged for this tour we were supposed to get a better quality experience and not essentially a long bus ride in a small, quite uncomfortable and full to the top bus.

Thanks for spending time writing this looong feedback.
Due to operational issues, the bus size was a one/off last-minute change.
All travelers were duly informed and given the opportunity to reschedule for the next day or get a refund.
The pickup location change worked very well, all guests were there ahead of time and the bus left 5 minutes earlier than planned. So, not sure what the issue is.
We stop at Kennett River to try to spot koalas in the wild, so we can't guarantee.
Your tour guide is an excellent and experienced professional with hundreds of five-star reviews on Viator. It's a shame you didn't have the same impression.

Lovely places, no time enough to visit

I loved to visit some place but the big problem was we had no time enough to have a real lookout because tre time during the stops was so ridiculous. Too many stop not so interesting. It’s better to have the possibility to see few locationa and stay there more time.

One of the most beautiful ocean roads, which is amazing. there is something about standing in front of an ocean that makes sense in a different way. I can't describe it really, you have to take the trip and experience it yourself :)
