Better than Disneys jungle tour, but a little underwhelming.

Fun trip. Got to head down a (fast flowing) river that was infested with lots of crocodiles. Saw a couple of monkeys, iguanas, and the usual flora and fauna. Nothing too crazy. The trip ends at a family farm (same guy who owns the boat), where they provide some fresh cut fruit and juice. My only complaint is that no actual real food was provided. We were picked up from the Andaz hotel at 7:30pm, and it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the river. The jungle cruise itself is about 2 hours. Then another hour at the family farm, and then the drive back to the hotel. We were pretty hungry by the time we arrived at the family farm, and saw them cooking a huge pot of chicken and rice that looked and smelled delicious. That food was served to other your groups, but not to us (much to our disappointment). I’m not sure how to get access to that food, since we paid $108 per person for the tour, and there we no “lunch” option when booking the tour. Oh well.

Knowledge of the guide. Wildlife such as monkeys, birds, crocs etc.. Butterflies and unusual bats. Went after for a snack at a farm.

The guide and the boat captain were both very friendly and knowledgeable. They worked diligently to find as many examples of wildlife as they could. I highly recommend this adventure!

We had a fantastic day! Henry was so knowlegeable about everything! He knew very interesting facts on the animals we saw. He also knew tons about local vegitation and local history. We also stopped at a local ranch for coffee brewed right at our table and homemade rice pudding. We highly recommond this tour!

The experience was awesome.. Jose was the best..we got pick up a little later than advised but after that everything was just great.. we were only 2 in the van and it felt like a private tour. Jose was amazing and I felt safe with the driver.. We learned alot about the sugar cane process and fruit fields along the way.. On the boat we saw crocodiles, birds and a few monkeys up close..I definitely recommend..

Jose was very good and took us to see a macaw nesting on the way. Also saw cantaloupe fields being harvested along with sugar cane being cut down by both machete and machines. On the cruise we saw many birds, white face monkey, iguanas, and crocodiles.
