After an early start from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre in Hobart, travel in a comfortable coach to the gorgeous Tasman Peninsula.

See the highest sea cliffs in Australia and sweeping views from Pirates Bay Lookout. Continue to the rock formations known as Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen, then take a short guided walk on the cliff top trail to Waterfall Bay, designated one of the 'Great Short Walks' of Tasmania.

Next up, have four hours to explore the Port Arthur Historic Site on your own. Your entrance ticket to the World Heritage Site includes a guided walking tour with one of the expert staff guides and a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Walk among buildings of the main prison, check out the solitary confinement cells and more in this open-air museum. You'll gain insights into the grim history of the early Australian penal system, and learn about the convicts that passed their time in this notorious prison.

Return to Hobart via the historic township of Richmond Village. Stop there to stroll around the streets of the picturesque village and walk across Australia’s oldest sandstone bridge, built by convict labor with stone quarried at Butchers Hill.

Near Hobart, stop at a local lookout for a fabulous view of the city and Mt Wellington before returning to your starting point where your tour ends.

This was a very informative tour. David was full of interesting information on recent and historic events in Tasmania. He was quite funny too. We went for a lovely bush walk on a smooth gravel track and saw wonderful rugged cliff views. It was good to have a bit if convict information before we got to Port Arthur too. It was a full day and we thoroughly enjoyed it

Time, energy and money well spent. A trip that was therapeutic for the eyes and mind. Rejuvenating no-pressure adventure for the body. And of course, the well-informed guide made the entire trip a worthwhile.

This day tour was wonderful. It had a good range of activities and the lovely Tasmanian land and seascape were breathtaking . Port Arthur was exactly what we thought it would be and more.Would have liked to get to Richmond earlier as shops were closing just after we arrived But all in all a great tour.
An unforgettable trip to discover the beauty of nature and history

Perfect tour guide, weather and day trip! It's my 1st time visiting a historic site at Port Arthur and it's mind blowing. Walks along the tasmana peninsula is easy and the views are amazing. Richmond is a lovely quaint place and worth spending a day to explore the shops and pooseum. The best part of the tour is Ben's jokes and story telling, bringing history to life and how the beautiful Eaglehawk isthmus once had a rather sad history. Definitely a must do in Tassie!

A memorable day at Port Arthur and Amazing Coastline Views
    Peter_W, Feb 2023
This was an active tour which included a precursor scenic 2km coastline walk which was very breathtaking before visiting Port Arthur. Port Arthur site was very historical with sad history about its convicts which we found very interesting. The trip also included a half hour stop at Richmond which we thought was not long enough and would be good to extend by at least another 15 minutes. Our driver, Jessie was quite knowledgeable about the history of Port Arthur and each of the stops we visited. Unfortunately it rained during part of our visit Port Arthur but we made the most of our visit which include a short cruise. A good day trip overall, especially for visitors arriving in Hobart for the first time.

Absolutely loved the small walk from Eagle Neck to Tasman Arch. And the Port Arthur tour guide was as brilliant as our whole tour leader. Thanks team. Mum is 84 and loved it too!
    Port Arthur highlighted!
    Julie_F, Oct 2022
We had a small group which was great! The tour guide gave us instructions on how the day would run which was helpful. Port Arthur was the highlight. We had sufficient time to explore on our own, with a guide and the short cruise was included. A little more time in Richmond would have been great but the rainy weather and roadworks caused a few time issues. Extra commentary as is often offered on other tours would have been a great addition. Flexible drop off at the end of the day was very much appreciated. Thank you for a great day!
Port Arthur day trip, well worth it

Great day full off great things to see. Tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable of local area’s history.
    Wonderful tour!
    Sarah_B, Sept 2022
This was such a great day and our guide, David, was well organized and full of stories and insights into Tasmania. I had limited time (unfortunately) and this tour was the perfect way to see a lot in a short time. The peninsula walk, unzoo, Port Arthur and Richmond were all great! It felt like just the right amount of time to enjoy each stop while packing a lot in. A tiring day, but worth it.

    A day trip worth doing

We have loved the little bit of Tassie we've seen. Had a great time on the tour. Trevor was a great guide! Thankyou Trevor!
    Fast paced, spectacular views
    Emily_C, June 2022
This was a fast paced tour with many stops and a quick jaunt around Port Arthur. If your main interest is in seeing Port Arthur, I’d recommend another tour (the Port Arthur historic site covers a large area so it’s hard to see it all in a couple of hours); however, if you want to take in some of the spectacular natural scenery on the way, such as the Tasman Arch, then this tour is worthwhile.
