Overview

The 4,170-foot (1,270-meter) peak of Mt Wellington is Hobart’s most famous landmark and lies just west of the city. This Explorer Bus ticket offers hassle-free transfers between Hobart and the mountain summit—a 30-minute journey each way. Your ticket is valid all day and there are several different departure times, so you can hop off to hike the mountain trails and spend as long as you like admiring the views from the summit.

Easy, hassle free booking through viator. Good drive up the mountain with with great commentary. Spectacular world class views of Hobart, the Derwent river and surrounds. A must do tour whilst in Tasmania.

The Bus driver was very good with his commentary on the history and flora and fauna of the way up and back down Kunanyi Mt WELLINGTON, he also showed us many photographs of the history and recent cold snow weather that can occur on the moutain .When the bus was stoped at the top. Worth it

The driver was very informative. It was very cold and windy at the top but the lookout building and the toilets were warm. I was dropped off part way down, walked in very pretty bush tracks for about an hour and was picked up further down the mtn by another bus. Recommended 😊

Great trip up to the top of Mt Wellington with a professional and knowledgeable driver. Given 30 minutes at the summit to take in the scenery with great photo opportunities of Hobart. Rug up as its cold up there.

The bus arrived on time and our driver/guide Dave was a cheerful chap with great storytelling skills. We learned a lot of history not only of the mountain but of Hobart city itself. The summit of the mountain itself was freezing as the fog came over, so best to pack warm clothes!

It was a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the ride interesting. Plenty of spectacular views and pick up zones if you wanted to hike down or up the mountain (would highly recommend the hike as great views, scenery and chance to see some of the mountains wildlife).

Best trip up Mt Wellington

This is a GREAT tour! WHY? Because of the great people working at this tour. First of all, Fiona! She is great at staying in contact when we had questions and super patient and helpful. Second our bus drivers Greg and Al were awesome. They were good drivers and great tour guides and always more than willing to help anyone with questions or needing extra help. The trip is gorgeous. We chose to get off the bus at The Springs and hike up to The Chateau, then hope on a bus to the top and then ride that bus back down into Hobart. Smooth and efficient and the drivers stay in radio contact with each other so they alert when and where they expect the next driver might find you at a stop. The hike was amazing, it's mostly uphill but I'd put it at moderate exertion for a fit 63 year old. Best way to see Mt Wellington! Thanks for the memorable trip!
