I'm a 64 y/o female that has a bad knee binding time for a total knee when I get on Medicare. I didn't realize it was 1 1/4 miles straight up hill to get to the top to see the lighthouse. The scenery was wonderful and worth it but for those with back or knee issues you may want an easier hike.

A lovely walk despite the tropical downpour

This is a beautiful walk but care needs to be taken as you walk on a small stones and at times muddy path. We experienced a 20 minute tropical downpour. The Manoa Falls is the destination but the journey is even better.

A little hike gets reward with nice view

This is my first time going to Makapu’u lighthouse. Our friendly driver picked us up on time and shared some of his knowledge about the area. I would consider the short hike mild(feels like walking on a treadmill with 45 degree angle) compared to the Diamond Head. The view on top is amazing and the breeze up there is one the best I experienced in years. If you’re a photographer, it’s quite a challenge to get a perfect angle of the lighthouse due to limited access but still worth seeing.

Kevin was an amazing driver/tour guide and very knowledgeable! Had the best experience and the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail hike was easy, especially once you get to the top which takes about 30 minutes, was breathtaking! The whole experience from booking to pick up and drop off was seamless. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again next time in Waikiki!

I enjoyed the paved walk with ocean views everywhere. It was nice to be dropped off, given a certain time and do the walk at my own pace. Skipping parking jams was a plus as well. I'd recommend this hike for many.

Even though we had a little hiccup in the beginning of the tour trip, and was unable to complete the rest of our tour. The tour company was amazing and gave us a second chance to see the rest of the tour on another day. We absolutely loved this tour, along with Kevin our tour guide who was awesome!! I will have to say that the steep incline was a little challenging, but well worth capturing some beautiful scenic pictures! I definitely recommend this tour!

All paved, unless you veer off for pics, easy trail, steady incline to the top, well worth the trip, my watch said we hiked 2.5 miles total. The pictures and view at the top all well worth the walk.

The shuttle picked us up on time. We were given 2 hours to do the hike and enjoy the views. It was very easy and had a great viewpoint at the top. Just a FYI, there are no restrooms at the lighthouse trail or other stops.

This tour was not done because it was overlapped with another and Viator took my money but was not able to contact a person to get this changed. Viator is difficult to contact therefore I lost out on this excursion. I texted the host and they didn’t return my text. Skip this and go on your own which we did with the Shaka Guide. Save your money and the hassle.

The tour was nice, relaxing, and worth the $30 cost. However, we will rent a car for part of our next visit to the island. The tour was good enough, our guide ("Cousin" Marc) was great, and quite entertaining. But, this tour would have been better with our on rental car. The time spent at the Lighthouse site was adequate. Though I would have liked a short stop off for a small lunch following the tour because the walk up the mountain left me and my family quite hungry. That being said, you may want to bring something to eat afterwards.

We both thought this tour was rushed and way too short. We would not do this tour. We did love the Hike itself and would have loved to have more time to adventure.
