A most enjoyable experience

We had a most wonderful experience with Eugene as our tour guide - he was funny, smart and engaging - always the gentleman and courteous - always willing to answer any question and would often come up with his own questions and then give a detailed explanation - we learned a tremendous amount about the Dole plant from the main inspection building to a ride into the fields to see the workers planting the crowns and workers getting reading to hand-pick the ripe pineapples - clearly the best tour with an expert guide! 5 stars.

Amazing tour

Bruddah Eugene was our tour guide and he was super awesome!! He was very knowledgeable and personable. We had an absolutely amazing day touring the Dole Plantation, shopping, eating and visiting the beach. This tour is definitely worth your time and money.

See everything on the North Shore

Great tour with lots of stops. One piece of information is that the Dole plantation tour is the actual farm. It is not the more touristy venue that is run by Tropicana. It was interesting to see the processing and packing of the pineapples. Only drawback of your was bus seats which did not have leg room and no place to store the pineapple that you got from the tour. Recommend not to bring backpack - you won’t have good room on the bus. Highly recommend the tour

From beginning to end this tour was awesome. Our driver/guide was Charlie and he was great. It was well worth the money and time spent and would highly recommend this tour to family, friends, and anyone else who asks. I would even do the tour a second time!

Best tour in Oahu!

Our guide, Rocky made our experience comfortable from the first minute all the way to the tearjerking farewell at the end. Didn't even feel the long bus ride because of his stories! As for the tour, being able to see the fields and enter the factory of Dole was my favorite part. Beats the gift shop! Book this tour!

NOT AS ADVERTISED- much longer than what was told to us

When we originally booked this trip, there is a clear outline of what we are doing that day, times (albeit I know those won’t be exact), and an estimated time that we should be back by. 3:30pm is what our booking said. We get on the bus, and our driver, Ed, informs us that we aren’t going by that time, but by Hawaiian time. And we should not expect to be back until 6 or 7 that night. Well, quite honestly, sitting in a box for 11-12 hours is NOT how I want to spend one of my precious days on the island. And we booked it because the itinerary said we would be back by 3:30- which in our minds, would give us the rest of the afternoon to do whatever else we wanted that day. The driver ended up adding 2-3 more stops that were not on the itinerary, and while that could be looked at as very nice, we were only at those stops for 15-20 min extra, so really no time to look around. ( Ed said take 15 min, so we were sure to be back by then, but he ended up not getting on the bus for an additional 10 min for whatever reason on most stops, some of which were other riders holding up the take off). The problem is, the day ended up being so long (11 hours) that by the last stop, we were so tired and brain fried that I didn’t care about anything else, but just getting back to the hotel. The pineapple tour is the main reason why we went on this tour, but the driver only knew some facts, others he said he had no idea. And when we went into the factory, it’s so loud that no one can hear anything. So while I am sure this is extremely interesting, they need to think of better ways to get the information to everyone. I am sure this is a good tour, and maybe our driver just made it ten times longer, with technical issues and little to no AC (and there are no windows that open on this bus), it just seemed like one of our few days we are here, ( and we all know it costs so much money to visit) was wasted. Again, maybe this is your thing, but if you are planning on something else that day, or don’t like being cooped up on a bus for 11 hours, this is not for you. And I really wish I had seen that prior to us booking.

Awesome Tour that’s a MUST!

We were blessed to have Rocky as our guide. To say he was very knowledgeable is an UNDERSTATEMENT. We learned soooo much on this tour. Next this is NOT the Dole retail place with the maze and Dole Whips. This is the actual DOLE PLANTATION across the street where you see the awesome people work the fields and inside the factory. This is a MUST SEE. you also will receive a Royal Hawaiian Dole pineapple in a box to take home. This was so much more than we expected!!!

I throughly enjoyed our tour guide, Jay. He was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of Hawaiian history and had great information about pineapples. I needed a little more time at the coffee farm, but outside of that, I feel secure in saying that a good time was had by all. If they add the plantation across the street where the shopping and Dole Whips are, this would be a 5 star tour.
