What To Expect

This combo adventure takes you to Rainforest Adventures Costa Rica Pacific, an ecotourism reserve that encompasses 222 acres (90 hectares) of transitional rain forest. After pickup at your Jaco-area hotel, enjoy the scenic ride to the reserve, where you’ll be greeted by your expert guides.

Climb aboard an open-air gondola for a 1-hour aerial tram ride that takes you through all levels of the rain forest. As you glide through the trees, your naturalist guide will point out native flora and fauna, such as capuchin monkeys, sloths, toucans, blue morpho butterflies and hummingbirds. The gentle ride takes you up as high as 130 feet (40 meters) for sweeping views of the forest below and the Pacific Ocean in the distance.

Hop off the tram on a mountainside and prepare to fly back on a zipline course! After receiving a safety briefing and gear including a hard hat, harness and gloves, clip on to the first of 10 cables and soar from platform to platform on a thrilling ride that includes ziplines stretching more than 656 feet (200 meters).

Back on the ground, give your heart rate a rest with a leisurely 45-minute nature walk, followed by a visit to the reserve’s medicinal garden and serpentarium, where you can get an up-close look at more than 20 species of reptiles and snakes.

Your 2.5-hour rain forest adventure concludes with drop-off back at your Jaco hotel.

If you like the rainforest/jungle (trees, flowers, birds) and some extra adventure, this tour is for you! The guides did a great job quickly explaining how to zip line. The aerial tram up through the rainforest was both relaxing and informative. The guides worked quickly on the zip lines and made sure everyone had fun!

The view was stunning, the staff knowledgeable and they explained all of the procedures well. Be ready for the hike back down the hill. It is not for the faint of heart. The zip lines were so much fun! Be sure to wear good shoes. You will enjoy this adventure.

My brother is handicapped and the tram ride was perfect for him! The zip line was an awesome adventure! I would not count on the hotel pickup, make your own way there. 10 min from Jaco Definitely 5+ stars.

This was a nice experience for our family. Mike, our guide, was knowledgeable about the rainforest and very adept at handling the zip line part of the trip. We were novices but felt like pros at the end of the journey down the mountain. Recommended, but it takes a little more effort than we were expecting to do the zip line. We would certainly do it again.
