We weren't sure what to expect but the history of South Africa was wonderful & came to life, thank to our guide Messe. He was knowledgable, kind and gauged the timing of the day for us to it all!
You should go ahead!

It was a very valuable tour. Our guide and drive Clemnti was kind, thorough and knowledgeable. We visited No.4 prison, Soweto, Hector Pieterson memorial, Apartheid museum. It was a good opportunity to understand and reconsider Apartheid deeply. The buffet lunch was delicious and not too expensive. Strongly recommended!!

Bringing history to life and increasing my knowledge of history Unfortunately it was rather rushed and there was no chance of stopping for photos that I wanted Very good driver/ leader
Fantastic tour
Kelly_H, Sept 2023
We had a fantastic time on the full day tour. Nathi was professional, pleasant and a wealth of information on the history and current climate in Johannesburg and Soweto. The other guides at Constitutional Hill and Mandela House were knowledgeable and helped educate us in the short time we were there.
Long tour

Tour was supposed to be 9:30 to 5. Got notice at 11:30 pm night before pickup was changed to 8:30. Ended up going to 5 hotels to pick up people, took over an hour, then same on return trip and didn’t get back until after 6 pm, way too long. Did not see any sights in Johannesburg, just Mandela info. While interesting, ended up hearing same info 3 times. Guide was knowledgeable.

My full-day trip to Soweto, Johannesburg, was an absolute highlight of my visit to South Africa, and it was all thanks to our incredible guide. This experience was a captivating journey through history, culture, and the enduring spirit of Soweto's people. Our guide, whose name escapes me but whose knowledge left an indelible mark, was the true star of the day. The guides vast understanding of Soweto, its history, and its people, made me feel both safe and deeply enriched throughout the entire trip. The guide provided invaluable insights into the complex layers of Soweto's history, particularly during the era of apartheid. We began our day by visiting the prison 5 and later on visiting the iconic Nelson Mandela House, where we walked through the very rooms that once housed the great leader. The guide's storytelling breathed life into every corner of this historic home, making me feel as though I had stepped back in time. Understanding the significance of this place in the struggle against apartheid was profoundly moving. Next, we explored the Hector Pieterson Museum, a powerful tribute to the youth who played a pivotal role in the fight for freedom during the Soweto Uprising. Our guide's narrative skillfully intertwined personal stories with historical events, giving me a profound understanding of the sacrifices made by the people of Soweto during those turbulent times. Our guide's passion for sharing the history of Soweto was evident at every turn. They connected the dots between the past and present, making the history of apartheid come alive in a way that textbooks never could. They also ensured that we were safe and comfortable at all times, which was especially important in a place with such a rich but sometimes challenging history. As we walked through the vibrant streets of Soweto, I couldn't help but be inspired by the resilience and determination of its residents. The guide's personal anecdotes and interactions with locals added an authentic touch to our experience. In conclusion, my full-day trip to Soweto was a profoundly moving and educational journey, largely thanks to our exceptional guide. This experience deepened my understanding of apartheid, the struggles faced by the people of Soweto, and the enduring spirit of this remarkable community. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Johannesburg, as it offers not just a glimpse into history but also a chance to connect with the heart and soul of South Africa. Five stars, without a doubt!
Interesting Day in South Africa
Lynette_B, Aug 2023
The Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill. I found both places interesting and very sad as both white and blacks fought for equal rights for the black man.
Too many things, not enough time for all of then.
Ibai_A, Aug 2023
The tour started late. We were on a hurry most of the time, from place to place and to make questions about what se were seeing. We had few time to visit the Apartheid Museum.
A very enjoyable and informative day!
Patricia_H, Aug 2023
We had a great guide who told us information about places we passed and visited. The museum was closed but we visited the jail were Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for all those years. So sad that people had to suffer so much. We enjoyed a very tasty lunch and visited the house that Nelson Mandela lived in. We saw the new houses and the old shanties and building projects that have never been completed. Thoroughly enjoyed the day!

An excellent tour. Such a lot to cover in one day but Nathi kept us moving and managed the time really well so that we had 1.5 hours at the end of the day for the Aparteid Museum. Very educational experience not to be missed
