Secret Kauai Tour

DJ was an excellent tour guide. He knew the perfect spots to view Waimea Canyon , the blow hole and waterfalls. He filled us in on the history of the island. An excellent tour and guide. Highly recommended.

DJ was such a great guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about Kauai and we really enjoyed his company. It was just my husband and I and we asked him a lot of questions as it was our first time on the island and he was on it. We took a beautiful ride up 3500ft up and had awesome views of so much of the island from Waimea State Park. Our guide gave us a choice of different spots to see next and we chose the beach at Polihale which was amazing. He even was nice enough to take us to town to eat at a great lunch place. Highly recommended!

Everything was amazing! Simon, our guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable and witty and made the experience fun! The chicken picture… yes there are chickens everywhere… who would believe … but it is all part of the history of the island! A must tour indeed!!!

DJ was hands down one of the best guides we have ever had. This is the kind of tour where you will get exactly what you want - if you know a bit about what you are looking to do, DJ can accommodate and tailor the experience to what you want. If, however, you are like us and you really don't have any idea, DJ can open up Kauai to you. I'm so glad we did this earlier on in our trip - it made a huge difference. He also sent us a lot of recommendations of other things to do and places to eat (we were not interested in reservation only locations). Mahalo!

We’d already been on the island for a couple of days and seen many of the widely known attractions. DJ was very accommodating and put together activities off the beaten path that are not easily accessible or known to tourists. He was extremely knowledgeable about the island and was able to address our many questions. He took us on several hikes that were geared to our limited hiking experience. We not only had a blast but also saw waterfalls and scenery we otherwise never would have. We would highly recommend this tour and DJ to anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of the island, enjoy the beautiful scenery, and generally spend an enjoyable 5 hours with a great tour guide.

We should have done this the first day we were on the island. DJ was an excellent guide and we learned so much from a local. We got to see things and Learn about the local customs and the best places to visit. Highly recommend!

My husband and I didn’t really know what to expect going into this tour, and we almost cancelled it because we weren’t sure we wanted to be driven around. Boy, are we glad we went for it! Our guide was kind, informative, fun, flexible, and shared so much information and history about Kauai and all the sights we drove by. Our guide, Simon, assessed our wishes for the tour (based on what we’d already done and planned to do on our visit) and he got a feel for our comfort level with an off-the-beaten-path hike. We were blown away by the hike he took us on. We felt safe, the difficulty level was spot on for what we were prepared for, the trail was virtually free of other hikers and tourists, and we were able to see the most incredible panoramic views of Waimea Canyon - including a handful of cascading waterfalls. We literally felt on top of the world. Highly recommend this catered experience! Our guide even went above and beyond dropping us at a quick taco stand for lunch and squeezing in a stop to see sea turtles before it was over. He also left us with great advice and accurate directions on how to do a hike the next day by ourselves. It also did not disappoint! We felt the value for the experience and time on this private tour far exceeded the cost.
