Our guide Brian was fun and energetic. The kayaking was relatively easy as the water is very still. The hike was a challenge as the path is slippery after any rain. But still easy enough for someone used to light to moderate physical activity. Waterfall was breathtaking and worth the journey. Definitely recommend going behind the waterfall if you are able.

We want do it again!

We had the pleasure of taking a kayak and hike adventure with Brian this week and it was an amazing experience! The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and he made sure that everyone in the group had a great time. We started the day with a kayak tour of the Wailua River, where we saw some amazing scenery and wildlife. After our kayak tour, we hiked up to the secret waterfall , where we had stunning views . Love the Brains way to communicate with birds! The entire experience was incredibly fun and rewarding, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure in Kauai!
Great tour!

Had a great time on this adventure! Lovely scenery and the waterfall was amazing. Brian is the best tour guide hands down.
Super fun adventure!

We had the most excellent guide, Hawaiian Brian. Kept us entertained with history and trivia and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout our trip. The only bummer was the description on Viatour said the tour included lunch and that was not accurate. We were instructed to bring snacks so it was fine.
Great way to see the falls

The falls was amazing and getting to swim and go behind it was breath taking. The guides information about the history of the area, landscape, and animals was awesome!

Brian was a fabulous tour guide and absolutely entertaining! He was the male version of Snow White watching all the birds come to him! Water falls was fabulous as well as kayak ride and hike being very adventuresome! Loved it and highly recommend!!!
Excellent adventure

An excellent adventure! Kayaking was fun. The hike involved crossing the river in knee deep water 4 times and walking through ankle deep muddy water and mud several times, which we were not told about before we started but our guide Mike was very helpful. Be prepared to have muddy wet shoes all along! Definitely worth doing this hike. Hiking poles help.
Kayak and Rustic Hike to a Beautiful Waterfall
kylee_b, May 2023
We did Duke's kayak and hike tour with Brian. It included a 2 mile kayak (easy, good for beginners and experts alike) and rustic 1 mile hike to Wialua waterfall. We wore water shoes for the hike as you do hike in water up to waist deep. There are slippery spots as well, especially if it rains. We used bug spray and bug repellent bracelets and the mosquitos left us alone. We left at an earlier time so we were able to get to the waterfall before it was too busy. We were able to swim in waterfall. This was an amazing experience we will never forget. As for swimming, you can touch in most spots but the waterfall can come down pretty hard so swim at your own risk and only if you are a confident swimmer. We packed a lunch as lunch was not provided for this tour.

Hard to get to but worth the trip
Sean_P, May 2023
Our tour guide Brian from Detroit was absolutely fantastic! He was kind and passionate about his job and made the tour experience extremely enjoyable. We have never kayaked before and he ended up towing us both ways. This was above and beyond our expectations. He told great stories and the views were breathtaking.
Fun day!

The kayak trip down the river was fun and relaxing! While the trail to the falls was very muddy and slippery, It was worth it to see the beautiful falls. Our guide Brian was great, telling stories about the history of the area. This was our best experience on the island!
Brian is wonderful

Best Kayak/Hike ever (to secret falls)
Raymond_S, May 2023
Most amazing. 2 mi Kayak, 2 mi hike across streams, and mud paths to “secret falls”. jump in the water, work your way behind the falls and back. Brian, from Detroit, the best - funny stories, total sync w nature, birds feeding out of his hands Recommend you take early morning trip to avoid crowds which showed up as we were finishing return hike.
Nature at its Best
Kaneshia_P, May 2023
Took a leap of faith and did this tour with my son and my sister and her husband. Kayaking is harder than it looks 😂. It’s a great tour and the waterfall at the end is beautiful. You need some sort of shoe that can handle being completely submerged in water as well as trekking through mud and across rocky terrain. Tennis shoes will get you there but won’t cut it. Had to let mine dry out 2 days before wearing again. Good tour!!
Brian is fantastic
Pamela_V, May 2023
Brian our guide MADE the trip! He took his time to explain the things we were seeing. He even knew birds he could has seen over the years and hand feed them.
Faint of heart, do not reply
Cassie_J, May 2023
Just be prepared with water shoes or hiking sandals; it is not a hike for the faint of heart. Although the terrain was rough, making it to the waterfall makes up for it.
