This was a truly great experience! The staff at the museum walked us through every step of the scarf-making process and made sure we knew what we were doing and why. After, we got to learn more about shibori and its history, as well as how the craft is now. It truly felt like a VIP experience, and we got beautiful scarves to take home as well. I can't recommend this enough.

A tiny taste of an amazing craft

This was one of my favorite activities that we did for the trip. We got to do a basic shibori scarf with two colors and a clamped pattern. The instructor helped show us what to do and checked our work (and touched up the dye a little where we missed). Then we went upstairs to the little museum, watched a short video on shibori and got to see the tools as well as some amazing finished pieces. They were so complicated and absolutely breathtaking. When we came back down our scarves were dry and ready to take home with us.
